The Troll

"ME" you don't have one ounce of common sense.  After eight years of George W. you still trying to defend him and you want to forget what he and your Republican Party has done to this country.

But for god's sake, will you put a few more paragraphs in the bullshit you write.  When you get half way through the bullshit all of the words run together.  Really making a piece of shit.

If you want us to read this shit at least make it easy.

So no one is accountable for their individual personal / professional decisions? Really?!

Had I taken advantage of the predatory lending practices, I'd now own a cumulative block's worth or real estate. But I didn't.

The REAL crime in the housing bubble burst is the fact that not a single person was held accountable. Scores of them are guilty, but not one is in the sin bin.

But, again, you paint with a brush loaded with the broad strokes of ignorance. Anyone who thinks the MILLIONS of Americans who are homeless, in foreclosure, or that have been foreclosed upon, are all a direct result of the predatory lending practices is, quite frankly, delusional; or has a nefarious agenda that makes such unreasonable assumptions attractive to their agenda.

The reality is that the lion's share of families that find themselves homeless, or in dire financial straights, purchased homes that were well within their financial reach at the time they made the purchases, and through no fault of their own they lost their employment and could no longer afford the homes they were / are in . Couple that with the collapse of property valuations and not only can they no longer afford these homes, but they are no longer worth what they paid for them; resulting in short sales and even more predatory practices on the part of the lending institutions, as they hold the foreclosed accountable for the remaining balance and force them into bankruptcy.

And still, these jackals are not held accountable.

Anyone else see the hypocrisy in the conservative republican party line of "personal accountability"? Its nothing more than a talking point!
I did not say that all of the people who are in foreclosure over mortgaged but a large number did or they got hooked on that low payment for so many years to increase down the line figuring their income would be greater only to find out that it didn't happen or, like you stated, one or both became unemployed and couldn't afford the increased payment.  The bottom line is that "everyone has a right to a home" crap should have never even started.

If you had an ounce of common sense you'd realize there is no way the Republicans and Bush are entirely responsible for what is going on right now and realize also that the current administration has played a part in making things worse.

I must be psychic!

I see where the "super" idiots are now figuring out how to tell the American people they FAILED to come up with the amount of cuts necessary to prevent their band aid from being ripped off the flesh of the American people!

Now the republicans are sharpening their hatchets. Get ready, there are going to be a massive number of cuts and YOU will be hurt seriously by them!

So in your view everyone DOES NOT have a right to a home?!
The right to OWN a home. You knew what I meant. They may have the right to own one but they should be able to afford it if they buy it.  People with no job, bad credit, or insufficient funds should not be able to obtain a loan and that's the way it was until the early 90's and it got worse toward the mid 90's. Foreclosures were already on the upswing by the late 90's when people's payments started going up as per loan stipulations.  Some were 5yr and some 10yr artificially low payments which increased as much as $800.00 to $1000. pr month when the time period ran out. This has added to the current foreclosure rate which is due to people losing jobs.  Although they were tightening up those loans were still available until 3 or 4yrs ago.  Bush tried to get them, Fanny and Freddy,  investigated  and, like I said earlier, good old Barney Franks and Chris Dodd along with the dem congress said there was nothing wrong fought Bush every step of the way.

This is a lie.  Franks worked with Michael Oxley on bi-partisan legislation, the Federal Housing Finance Reform Act of 2005, that would have created the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) to oversee and more strictly control both Fanny and Freddie.  The bill passed the House but was never voted on by the Senate, in part because Bush had indicated that he was likely to veto it.

You can blame Rappin Ronnie for the deregulation that lead to that situation; however, again I will say where is the responsibility being enforced for those predatory practices that were undertaken for over a decade? NONE. Instead you want to blame the victims. . .

Sure the individuals hold some measure of responsibility too, but I'm sorry, most of those loans were in trouble well before this recession began, and failed beforehand as well. What we have today are mostly 15-30 year fixed rate loans going into default. So lets focus on the real problem here, instead of the straw men you want to keep deploying. . .

Want to explain the proportionally larger defaults within the last year or so, that belong to people who are millionaires? What is their issue?

(And this doesn't even take into account that most of your "blame" is lacking in substance and heavy on nothing but pure speculation)

My bullshit?  Uh, you're the one who just got spanked for your ignorance of the legislation Frank worked on.  In fact, he believes and has stated that the the real-estate crisis was rooted in a, get this, misguided notion that homeownership should be available to all people...pretty much flies in the face of the bullshit you're trying to peddle; huh?  Meanwhile, your boy Bush was hailing his administration's success at getting people into homes and mortgages, referring to it as "the ownership society".

As usual, you have everything right but the facts.
