we could cut this problem down considerably by closing the borders and deporting all who are not here legally.  Fixing this economy would further aid this problem...... promote more competition between health insurance companies and the pharmaceutical companies.......introduce TORT reform to take the pressure away from Doctors making a mistake...and reform our Medicare system...there are many other solutions rather than GOV RAN HEALTHCARE, which is ultimatly the goal by the left.

YOu can throw out these statements you have been told to parrot, but here are some real statistics.

"Nationally, homeless are the second highest population of ER visitors (behind infants) with 83.6 visits per 100 homeless people. 36.1 white people per 100 visited the ER in 2006, compared to 79.9 per 100 black people and 35.3 Hispanic people. These figures, I would guess, reflect the difference in household income by race in the U.S."

You mentioned closing the borders? Look who is the lowest number on that list of ER abusers.

I got one question Hawk.  WHY DIDN'T GEORGE W. TAKE CARE OF ALL OF THE PROBLEMS WHEN HE WAS IN OFFICE?

For the 8 years he was in office fucking up the country, he could have taken care of all of the things you are talking about and the Democrats would have helped him.

Hawk you're talking bullshit as usual.

Okay, whatever, I can tell you for a FACT, by a Doctor who works in the ER...........and by FAR, there are more illegal "aliens" that come through there without any means to pay, than anyone.

Now, with that said, I can careless what sources or the lack there-of.........or, do I really expect anybody here to believe me or give a rats butt........that is just the raw facts as I know it.

But just to supply some facts........... A RAND study concluded that the total federal cost of providing medical expenses for the 78% undocumented immigrants without health insurance coverage was $1.1 billion.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_impact_of_illegal_immigrants_in_the_United_States

and to conclude, I am not implying that illegal immigrants are the whole problem........they are merely PART of the problem...and that is undeniable.

You are right, BUSH DID SCREW UP!   I have never ever tried to defend him on this...........I have admitted on here MANY times, that Bush has done his share to screw things up.  Immigration IS one of them..........He also allowed congress to spend TOO much.......although it is pennies compared to Obama.

If an uninsured motorist hits you and you are injured who pays for your injuries?

If someone gets sick and isn't insured do you pay for their doctor visit?

If that someone goes to the ER, then I pay.

"The American Hospital Association reports that U.S. hospitals lost $34 billion in 2007 to bad debt and charity cases."

http://www.dailyfinance.com/2009/06/17/nine-texans-2-678-emergency-room-visits-its-time-to-say-no/

somebody has to pay for all that care, so who does?

"It is spread out on the population of people that has private insurance," Earls said.

Health care costs for the uninsured are paid for in higher costs, higher premiums, and government programs paid for with tax dollars.  We already pay for the uninsured.  The question is, how do we reduce health care costs we already pay for?  We reduce costs with preventive medicine and keeping Americans healthy.

Let's assume that all those 35% of Hispanics that I cited are illegal. That means that your $1.1 billion is only 35% of the cost of providing medical expenses to the uninsured. Who pays (nearly $2.1 billion) for the other 65% who are legal?

I am really lucky that I still have insurance.  I have to pay my full premium from my job now, but is worth it to keep it.

Yeah, well Obama's a socialist and he wants totake your insurance away and give it to somebody else!

You have NO arguement with me.......I only stated a fact.  and, that part of the solution was to close borders........I never said it was the only problem.  Just a chunk of it.

Well golly gee look who runs daily finance:   Huffington-ization Of AOL Continues With Daily Finance Reset
AOL's Daily Finance channel has been one of its most highly trafficked over the past few years, but as the integration with Huffington Post continues apace, changes are coming. The company is announcing several new hires for the site, including Peter Goodman, executive business editor of AOL (NYSE: AOL) Huffington Post Media Group, with the goal of broadening the channel's appeal to younger audiences and women, while retaining the attention of investment professionals.

In all, AOL Daily Finance will have nine editorial staffers. That includes at least two former freelancers. Since the $315 million acquisition of HuffPo, AOL has eschewed the use of freelancers in its Media Group. Instead, Seed, AOL's freelance aggregation system, is now under COO Ned Brody's new network services group. Goodman, a former New York Times reporter who joined HuffPo last fall, wouldn't go into the topic of layoffs that occurred before he arrived with the rest of HuffPo in March, but he did say that there haven't been any staff reductions on the business reporting side under his watch.

The research would be a little skewed and biased by any chance would it?
