Right, it's our money where as it was the investors money.  The investors got something in return for loaning their money but what are we going to get.......higher taxes......Alright!!!!  Of course that does free up the investors to invest in something else so they really won't be hurt in the long run they'll just invest in something else that will earn them a profit.

No you are 100% wrong about this me. ALL student loans are government funded and always have been. Third party administrators were paid by the government per the terms of their contract with the government, to administer these loans of government money.

As Troll stated earlier, (and I stated previously when we had this same discussion elsewhere), the only thing that is different now is that the government cut out the middlemen!

Ok, so it's been our tax money all along and private business has been using their people to process the forms, dole, out the money and collect it.  Now I may be over thinking this but it seems as though if it is the governments, our, money that is being loaned out by private lending institutions who have contracted with the government they would be lending it under the terms which were set up by the government as far as interest and paying it back plus the government is paying them so much per contract term to handle this.  If the government is cutting out the middle man, the lender, aren't they going to have to turn around and hire their own people to process the loans and collect defaulted loans which will probably cost as much or more than contracting it out to a private lender?   Was that figured into the savings or were they using fuzzy math again by only figuring one side of things?
