Is smoking against the law?
Sodas?
Is it against the law to own a gun?
Are incandescent bulbs illegal?
Coal?

Yes or no?

Okay...I will play.

Yes, it is illegal to smoke in public places.

Yes, it is illegal in NY City to buy a sugar-sweetened drink in a cup larger than 16 ounces in all restaurants, fast-food joints, delis, movie theaters, sports stadiums.

Is it against the law to own a gun?.....No, but it is incredibly difficult to get a carry permit in many cities...several months, and several hundred dollars just to obtain possession of a firearm.

Are incandescent bulbs illegal?  No, but it will be in California in 4 years...with many other state trying to legislate it.

Coal?........just a matter of time.

I don't need to tell you, but it is political humor.  That being that liberals are all in favor of our Government to decide what is good or bad for you and making laws to see to it, but killing an unborn child is nobody's business but the woman.

Yeah, well it's illegal to have sex in PUBLIC places also. Smoking itself is not illegal.

I'll give you that one. But what's the big deal? You can buy LEDs now for less than $10  - they use a fraction of the energy (saves you $$$$) and they last practically forever (saves you $$$$$)

Speculation - Stick to the facts, please.

Who is trying to control our private lives? ...

For a Party That Hates Government Interference Republicans Love To Meddle in Private Lives
Republicans have made interfering in business a regular practice when it suits their agenda, and over the past five years the GOP made regulating women's lives one of its primary objectives due to their devotion to serving the religious right that runs a close second to the Republican loyalty to corporations and the dirty energy sector.

On one hand they are waging a ferocious war to prevent same-sex couples from marrying, and the other also serving the Family Research Council and the National Organization for Marriage to make it extremely difficult, if not impossible, for opposite-sex couples to end a disastrous marriage.http://www.politicususa.com/2014/04/16/party-hates-government-interference-republicans-love-meddle-private-lives.html

This Republican Bill Would Require People To Get Court Approval To Date Or Have Sex
Once again, Republicans have topped themselves. In the race for introducing legislation that restricts personal freedom the most in America, the Massachusetts GOP has reached a new low.

A GOP bill would force people to seek court approval to date and have sex.

For years, Republicans across the country have sought to police what citizens do in the privacy of their own bedrooms. They've tried to outlaw anal and oral sex, even for married couples. And they certainly want to ban gay sex. But now, they want to force people to seek permission from a judge before they can engage in sexual relations.
http://www.addictinginfo.org/2014/03/22/gop-bill-judge-decide-sex/

Rick Santorum, who has compared gay sex to bestiality, outdid himself in an interview that resurfaced last week in which he suggested that states  should have a right to outlaw birth control since contraceptives are "a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be." The other Rick, former Texas Gov. Perry, has been an outspoken opponent of  gays in the military and the  "sin" of homosexuality. Recent dropout Michele Bachmann seemed a messenger from a previous era, what with her belief that homosexuality is "personal enslavement" and her  pledge to ban pornography.http://www.alternet.org/story/153731/why_are_republican_prudes_still_desperate_to_control_your_sex_life

I think you are missing the BIGGER picture of that cartoon.

It was FUNNY.

At least to the average thinking American.......most people get that it is tongue and cheek humor.

and I will back up and say that GOVERNMENT is wanting to control our private lives.......both sides.  Dems and Repubs.  I have stated several times that I am disappointed in the GOP.  I just think they have MORE to offer on fixing our economy than the dems do.

When the economy is good then many of these other problems we have seem to fix themselves.
