Olias just won't let something drop actually.  He made and off hand comment about Columbus and I made an off hand reply and it just kind of mushroomed from there.  He really needs to lighten up ya know.  If I ignore him he starts that crap about how I am an idiot and won't reply and if I reply he starts with the  nit picking everything I say soooooo I just do whatever I have time for and some days I have time to come back at him and some days I don't.  If he keeps crackin' off about the Columbus Viking thing I'll keep crackin' back too as time allows.  Now if he wants to change the subject and get back on track and take my comment as intended like I took his all is good.

We were discussing the difference between fact and opinion.

It's a perfectly valid example.  Why would such an example not extend to other opinions that are flat out lies? 

President Obama isn't an American citizen.  That's an opinion; it's also a flat out lie.

President Obama is a Muslim.  That's an opinion; it's also a flat out lie.

President Obama wants to take away our guns.  That's an opinion; it's also a flat out lie.

Events that just aren't there any longer. have been removed, for cross checking, events that have changed from what really happened, meanings of certain words.  You know, the insignificant things that could make a difference at some point in what you think and whose "opinion" or "fact"  you chose to go with.

No, in all actuality he did not Amerigo Vespucci did.  Although Columbus was here first he thought he was in Asia and Vespucci is the one who realized it was not Asia which is why it is north and south America and not north and south Columbus, it is named after Vespucci.

After I pointed that even the Vikings beat him here and that the first Native Americans were from Asia, you once again reveled in your ignorance ...

They didn't land here but were just the first to make it out and it was 500yrs, not 20,000, before Columbus or Vespucci

Then you went off on a series of posts that even disproved ("They didn't land here") what you had posted about the Vikings.

There are differing opinions as to who was first if you'd bother to check further so it just depends on which one a person chooses to go with and I just posted what I found which is what a discussion is about.  If you found different info so be it.  I knew Columbus didn't discover America and from there it's open for discussion.  I did not dispute what you posted or call you an idiot because it was different from what I posted I just posted info I found.  You, like Troll just like to argue and that's unproductive and totally useless.  I mistakenly fall into it sometimes and argue back which is also a waste of time because you seem to enjoy name calling so much and can't just say "this is what I found." 

As far as the library thing goes I stress first editions and not revised editions which are changed. 

If everyone seen things the same we would all wear the same clothes, run our households the same, drive the same cars, and live in the same climates.  If I chose to always agree with someone who had a different opinion than I do then I would be a sheeple but I don't so therefore I think for myself.  May not always agree with the next person but it's how the world works and I can accept that and you need to learn how to accept that.  Bullying and putting me down is not going to change anything like it might with some so you might as well give it up.  You go ahead and have your fun if you must but your juvenile behavior is very unbecoming.  If you can't see that then I feel sorry for you.

What does it matter in the overall scheme of things anyway?  Why make such a big deal out of an offhand comment that had nothing to do with the topic anyway but was intended as an off handed reply to the off handed smart ass remark that was made.  I am discovering that liberals/left wingers are the most rude, intolerant, egotistical, and hateful when disagreed with people I have ever ran across.  I'm not saying any one of you wouldn't give someone the shirt off your back if you thought they needed it worse than you did but to disagree with you is a cardinal sin any way you put it.
