Sounds like a severe case of jealousy.

Sounds like a severe case of jealousy.

Sounds like jealousy?  It is jealousy.   We always hear about the big union bosses lining their pockets.  N Hawk surly doesn't know anything about unions but what he has heard from a scab Republican.

You never hear of a millionaire union leader, but boy o boy you sure hear about millionaire Republican senators and Representives.  You never hear of the Republican that will help the middle class.  The only thing is how to help the rich and the corporations and to gain more power over the working people.  POWER OVER THE WORKING PEOPLE is money in the bank for the rich.

Killing the unions is a power play.  Destroy the unions and control the money and the people and cut off the money in donations to the Democratic Party.  Old Newt Gringrich's contract to America wants to destroy the unions, Social Security and the bank and stock market rules and Medicare.  Just look at what the Republicans are going for since they won the House.

Women's rights, union rights, health rights and regulation over banking and the stock market.  It has all been planned for a long time.  Power over the middle class.  Slavery.  :trustme:  After 8 long long years of George W. and his Republican Party and what they have done to this country it looks like the Sheeple would know the Republican Party is a wolf in sheeple clothes.

Somebody's Man Mitch, (the guv), is calling for White to resign!

EDIT: Step down. . .

..."This news is sad and regrettable, but the only course of honor is for Mr. White to step down from his duties, at least during the duration of these proceedings until a verdict is reached. It would be neither credible nor appropriate for the state's top elections official to continue to perform his duties while contesting criminal charges, some of them under the very laws the Secretary of State implements. I have consulted with each of the other statewide elected officials and our judgment about this is unanimous.". . .

He didn't ask him to resign, just to step down, until charges have been proven.

They should have done the same to the GOP the last two years while they were stalling. . .

at least the GOP was utilizing rules put in place, not just trashing the democratic process.

Ike also proved that if you tax the rich, the country could start building the Interstate Highway System which created jobs, jobs and created one of the most modern highway system in the world.  What have the Republicans done for America lately.

Right now, they are SAVING America, but haveing the balls to actually CUT spending.....NOT adding TRILLION of $$$$ to our debt and decficets.

Also, remember Kennedy stepped in and CUT those taxes and our economy began to boom, once again.

I don't know a single teacher at the primary or high school level that makes that kind of lettuce. College professors, maybe, but not public school teachers. Administrators at that level, yeah probably.

Well I do!....MY AUNT is a GRADE school teacher in the ANDERSON School system, and she was making OVER 80K ten years ago.  She has been teaching since the early 70's.  She got that pay based upon tenure, NOT because she was a great teacher.

The average in ACS is $49,000...for working 180 days.

NOT AT ALL, FTW.  Just want what is right, to make this Country work again.  It is broken.  There has got to be more common ground.  Greed is rampart on both sides, I realize.  It is time for EVERYONE to make some recessions.  EVERYONE, not just those who do not CHOOSE to be with Unions.

Troll, I am telling you the truth.....I witnessed these guys SCREWING union workers.....FIRST HAND.  MY UNCLE, as I have told you in the past, used to BRAG about bonus', vacations, and playing during working hours.....Heck, he went to Texas once for a UAW meeting JUST to fish and play poker.  He played golf during times he was supposed to be at work......HE LAUGHED about it.

That is where I developed my 'bad' attitude.  It was NOT jealosy.  It was about RIGHT and WRONG.  THAT was Wrong.  I was only 14 years old, and it made me nausea then.  He told me about having uker (sp) tournaments while on the clock!

This stuff DID go on. and this was not from a scab.

Never said as much. I was implying that it is awfully ironic that they want to enforce the law when it serves them, but not when it doesn't!

They're using the rules in place; a vote cannot take place if a quorum isn't present in the state.

Never said it was okay or that I agree with it. In fact, it was the republican's actions in the 111th congress that drove them to do what they are doing right now. . . Same for WI.

OOOH RAH for her then. I guess everything I am saying is wrong, and we just need to vacate all of the current collective bargaining agreements, and slash state workers rights and salaries to the level of Walmart's then. (I wonder why it is that so many who historically have ranted about how poorly teachers are paid, are now endorsing this legislation to subject them to "at will" status?)

And tell me, just how long do you think it will take before industry decides that if the state governments can do this so can they?

If the legislation is illegal and unconstitutional why don't they fight for what they 'believe'? If the bill passes then take it to the courts to decide. We have these processes in place for a reason.

Lets just say they did so, and 2 to 3 years down the line, (after appeals etc.), the courts decide the democrats are right, and they now owe these state workers and teachers MILLIONS in backpay. How well are you going to like it when that pushes these states right back into insolvency?

They should just LAY OFF like private industry does.

The only winner right now is the unions. The union big wigs get to line their pockets with the members money and then turn around and donate to keep their pets in office so the unions can keep their power.

I used to think that way when I did not live in a state that was an "at will" state. That status stacks the deck in favor of the employers; and unfairly does so. It fosters an environment that nurtures and supports abuse of workers by the employers. The ONLY protection a worker has in an at will state is the refuge of the unions and collective bargaining agreement. Even with the union's history of less than admirable use of membership funding, the benefits outweigh this abuse in an at will state.

We want those who "teach" to get paid what they are worth, and those who are only teaching because they are getting paid very well, but no longer have the heart to do what is best for the kids, go away.

I want our schools to get back to basics.  Quit worring about teaching multiculturalism and political correctness.  Return our public schools to the control of the communities that our children and parents live in.  In a nutshell, I don't mind a "teachers union", I want the NEA to go away. THEY are agenda driven, and do not, in my opinion, have the best interest in my children.

Ummm, yes I do know about unions. I have worked in two union shops and both are closed now. The first one I was a supplemental worker who payed union dues and was told that the union would NOT represent me in any matter. This was in direct contradiction to their own constitution.

the second took my union dues and all I got was a silly pocket calendar. The only people that union helped at all were the dregs who couldn't hold a job any other way.

Both of these places are closed now because the workers there knew that they didn't have to do a good job because the unions would protect their jobs no matter what. They could screw off, show up drunk or just plain rip off the company and know they were safe.

Every job I have had, and my current one, pays better and has better benefits than either union shop.
