Our entire country sends vibes to the world that we don't like each other or get along.  All they have to do is stumble across a forum and they can read that.  It is no secret that this is a country full of people who can't get along!
Take time to smell the roses.

I'll say she's stupid. She's a promenant woman in the world-wide public eye. What message did that sent to our enemies?

Today's ironic musing.
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

Again, I think the other folks don't get your satirical wit.  But to answer your question on a serious note, I would guess that other prominent (sic) women from our past sent quite a message to our enemies: harriet tubman, rosa parks, the 4 little girls killed in a B'ham church bombing, etc, etc.  I can't even imagine what message Lynndie England sent to "our enemies", but the soldiers in Fallujah sure found out.

I wouldn't go so far as to call her stupid. I think she misspoke, and needs to choose her words more wisely.

Dan.... you really have me wondering what the heck happened? You're suddenly stuck on the race issues. Has something happened to you personally recently? I don't quite know what to make of all of this.

Never changed my tune, but it does irk me when I see racist attitudes portrayed as "sympathetic", or just blatantly ignorant.  You brought up Michelle Obama's statement on country, I didn't.  Your response to her statements have been nothing short of racist with a big slathering of ignorance.

Dan, I've been through all of my posts on this thread, and you are sadly mistaken. Go back and read my posts on this thread. Read them R-E-A-L  S-L-O-W if that'll help. Then come back and post the number to the post where you supposedly found these asinine statements.  No, I wasn't the one who brought up her misspoken statement. You need to read complete posts before, you go off half cocked, and start shooting your mouth off.  Your attack of me was completely unprovoked Dan.

Oops, you are correct.  It was Anne, Hank and Monroe that pushed the racist overtones in their pronouncements about Michelle Obama's statement.  You did, however, appear to support their views, and thus caught my wrath ;>)  So, yes, it was the other boneheads that showed the insensitivity, not you.  ;>)  Sorry.

Exactly what did I say that was racist?

Anne, you did not say anything racist.  Dan sees racism where It doesn't exist, other things too.  It's tied in with his problem with religion.

He's completely 'round the bend and not worth trying to dialogue with.  I think he is a complete fcuking idiot; that's why I usually ignore him.

You down play the past as though m. obama had no real claim of dissapointment with her past in the US.  You may not consider yourself a racist, but you might want to:

"take some classes in public speaking and tact to avoid those embarrassing situations"

Racism was never going to change in this country until whites were as pissed off as blacks.  You still sound like it was, "no big deal".

Posts by Anne:

1.Her statement, "I have never proud of my country until now" was a stupid mistake on her part. It wasn't what she meant, but she said it and now she has to live with it. It seems to me that she should really be proud of her country when she and her husband received a first rate education because of this country, lived in a million dollar house, and made an extremely good living, because of living in this country. She needs to think before she speaks.

2. I don't know about golf courses, but the Obamas are the age of my children and they grew up with many black children and none of them were kept from doing anything they wanted. At some point in time the past has to be the past. We have to move on. I doubt Mrs. Obama was ever kept out of a movie theatre or restaurant or swimming pool because of her color. If that is what is bothering her she needs to rethink her situation.

Pssst...you only use (sic) to denote that you have intentionally spelled a word incorrectly, such as in a quote.

The statement about taking classes in tact I would make about anyone who made such a misstatemnt in a public speaking engagement. Not racist at all. Yes, terrible things happened in the past, but that does not mean anyone should live in the past. The past cannot be changed. If we don't move beyond the happenings of the past nothing can change. What does she have to be disappointed about? She and her husband went to first class schools (his partly because of his grandparents), received excellent educations, and obtained high paying jobs. In short they lived the American dream. Anyone who has achieved that should take pride in their country.

Oops, I let the spell checker fix it, instead of keeping the organial messpelleded word  ;>)

Actually, I just goofed, but thanks for the correction.
