The statement about taking classes in tact I would make about anyone who made such a misstatemnt in a public speaking engagement. Not racist at all. Yes, terrible things happened in the past, but that does not mean anyone should live in the past. The past cannot be changed. If we don't move beyond the happenings of the past nothing can change. What does she have to be disappointed about? She and her husband went to first class schools (his partly because of his grandparents), received excellent educations, and obtained high paying jobs. In short they lived the American dream. Anyone who has achieved that should take pride in their country.

Sorry, you missed the part about YOU might want to take the classes.   I simply turned the phrase back on you, and....well shit, if I have to explain it to you, it isn't funny anymore....

If I was a public speaker and represented anyone other than myself, they might be in order. That is not the case so I will pass, thank you very much.

As such, what makes you think you're qualified to judge someone who is?

Anne must be a lawyer.

Acerbic analysis an' all.
Ignorance and fanaticism are ravenous. They require constant feeding.

It isn't difficult to tell when someone makes a mistake like Mrs. Obama did. I am not a lawyer, do only lawyers give "acerbic analysis"? If that is the cast there must be a lot of them around.

You continue to contend that MS Obama made a mistake.  If being honest is a mistake, you must really long for the days of bush/cheney.

I like this Anne, rather, I like YOU Anne.  I see you are a "newbie", and so, might not know the personalities on this forum.  There are only a few.

This forum is dominated by people with left wing loyalties who  never abate their disdain of anyone who dares  contradict the cool kids, them.  They own the place.  This forum, the political part, is not generally used to exchange information or to debate ideas.  It is a field of combat for status, transparent juvenile attempts to win arguments and to puff up ones ego. Some posters may be certifiable (hello dan).  I've engage in that with some pleasure and fun since sitting with little else to do in a barracks on Ft. Hood Texas in 2005.  It was fun but became boring and pointless; I left but came back a while ago.  In spite of all that, I hope you stay here and post your thoughts.  Don't take the kids too seriously.  As a mature adult you are a breath of fresh air.

I respect people who say what they mean and mean what they say.  If she meant it, then good for her.  Like I said before, it is not like our country doesn't already appear as though we all can't get along.

Yes, it must seem interminably hopeless being on the wrong side of history, of every argument, and every ideology.  Sorry.  If it helps, you can have Anne puff up your ego, too (if that's what you are calling it, these days)
