Haven't seen Rudy in years. Me and Rudy used to hang out at the pawn shop and jam. Back before it moved to 10th street. It was on the corner of Meridian and 14th. It moved there after the owner had been shot and killed in 66 or 67 at the old location further up that block. I used to hang out at that original location way back when I was in high school. Got my first guitar from the original location and my second one after they moved down the block.

You know a student of Rudy's named Frank Steans?

No, I do not recall a Frank Steans, sorry.

I remember when the pawn shop owner was shot. I had an uncle who served on the jury for the trial.

John DeHart. I knew him when he was playing with Dan Monday at Bud and Joe's every week. I always called him "Bad Attitude John", 'cause he always seemed pissed-off, lol!

Naw, the BBQ place was on the other side of he street. I wish I could remember it's name....it was a Jazz club that also served up great ribs. Owned by a well-know older black gentleman in the community....damn this "getting old"! I'm suffering from CRS: Can't Remember Stuff".

Frank still plays old school jazz guitar down in Indy. Been on Channel 20 when they used to do shows from the Jazz Kitchen. His wife or ex-wife used to work with mine down in Fishers.

The old pawn shop owner was a great old guy. I hung out there a lot when I first became interested in music. I'll tell you a funny story about me and that place next time I see you.

That's John all right! I played with him and that damn drum machine at B&J's when he and Danny would be on the outs. Knew Danny Mundy and his sisters forever. Went to his funeral.

You sure it was on the East side of the street? IIRC that parking garage and parking lot have been there since urban renewal ruined Anderson.

I can't remember his name either........LOL!

That's right! It was there in the 1300 block of Meridian not down by the old Downtown Lounge. Still don't remember who was running it.

Remember the piano bar in the old Shamrock?

Ghost of Jaco

Didn't some piano player named Macel have that gig for, oh, thirty years or so?

I haven't been out there to see her and I probably should. I used to stop in and see her at the Shamrock and the Spa. She and I have known each other a long time.

As soon as the weather allows I'm we're taking mom to hear her.  Mom really enjoys not only listening to Macel but also enjoys the food.
