Title: Miss California Will Keep Her Title

Ya know, I've wondered over the past few weeks---do you really think the marriage issue is one that she felt so strongly about that she would have become an activist if the events of the pageant hadn't happened? Or do you think the negative press and celebrity has just given her an opportunity?

I think it's given her an opportunity.  I also had a look at the site that broke those pictures of her and they were clearly targeting her because of those remarks.

I wonder if Trump let her keep the title because he couldn't figure out how to repo the breast implants he bought for her?

I'm actually surprised because there are other beauty queens who've been desashed for less.I think it's silly anyway. She said, "I'm a model and that's what models do" and she has a point, but aside from that...who really cares? I've always thought that "rule was silly.

Two things -

I feel badly for Miss North Carolina who actually won and the spotlight has never been around her.

I also find it interesting that he could fire Khloe Kardasian on his show for having to appear in court for her DWI charge and made a huge stink about how she was being irresponsible even though she had already served her sentence and was going for something like a probation check in, but he did not call these photos irresponsible.  Just a thought.

Maybe you could even convince her to tell her story again...about how the question was a test from Satan, but she had God in her head and heart and he helped her stand firm on her response or some such....seriously...she said that in an interview.

the point G, is that Obama said it..........and that is okay.....this Girl said it and she is attacked.....

the bottom line for me is.....THEY asked a question.....SHE answered it, the way MANY Americans would have...and people are screaming how she should be "stripped" of her crown.

other than that, life goes on...it is not the end of the world or anything....just something to tallk about.

I disagree that she should be stripped of her crown for her answer. All in all, I think she has handled herself rather graciously.

But no one has had any thought on either of my questions: do you think, before all of this, that she really cared that strongly? Or has the  "ruthless attack" polarized her even more against the idea? And secondly, are all opinions worth respect and to be admired for their honesty?

No, they aren't. But in this case she is certainly entitled to her opinion.

But let's not forget that this is not the only controversy in this case.

As the posted article says ...

"controversy over seminude photos and charges by state pageant officials that she had abandoned her duties to devote time to opposition to same-sex marriage."

I'm sure that her being attacked for her statement has only fueled her...she is being cast into the spot light which is something she has been training for..and I'm sure it came from her heart.

I dont think ALL opinions are worth anything to everybody...but maybe everything to some.

her answer showed exactly that, though. "I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land that you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage" Um, no, you can't choose one or the other, which is exactly why the debate is going on.

Henry, puh-leeze!
"We live in a land that you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage" You are really reaching if you think she was inferring anything!

But looking at the transcript of her answer solidifies even more what I think--that she didnt really have much of an opinion on it before she got turned into the Anita Bryant of her age: "I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman." She thought she believed? or she did?

While we are talking about her, I saw a headline a week or so ago claiming that the pageant paid for Miss Prejeans tetherball tittays. Is there any truth in that?? Why on earth would a pageant foot the bill (ie: encourage) something like that??  And I wonder what God thinks about breast implants?

I think the point is she was asked a loaded question, by a judge with an obvious agenda, and didn't have the sense to give a non-committal answer. The guy was a judge! He could sink her! (and he did) Are the pageant people still trying to sell these T & A shows as "scholarship programs?" 'Cause that was about the dumbest thing she could have done, if she really wanted to win.

I'm still waiting for one of them to strip during the "talent portion of our competition."

Donald Trump is a publicity whore. Her controversial comment is marketable publicity...drunk driving isn't. He doesn't give a fat rats arse what she believes (or "thinks" she does) he's getting a return on his investment...both on her and his poor choice of buying the pagent.

As to the second...if thats what she believes (or thinks she believes), then by all means she shouldnt marry another woman. I personally would never marry a woman with fake tittays (they feel like rocks...or so Ive heard) but I wouldnt propose that none of them should be married.

Perez Hilton, as a judge, was not suppose to ask a loaded question that proved he was there to promote his own agenda.

Also, judges are suppose to judge them on their ability to convey their answer to the question, not on the opinion rendered.

I believe his votes should have been disqualified when he went public afterwards, trashing Carrie and claiming she lost votes from him because of her answer.  He'd also posted on his website that had she won, he'd have gotten on the stage and ripped her crown off. For that, he should have had a protective order issued against him IMO.

More than that, if anyone has bothered to check out his trashy website, you'll see that he routinely trashtalks women in general, with incredibly filthy language. That he was asked to be a judge in the first place reflects very badly on Trump.

It also reflects badly that Trump had a former Playboy Bunny running his pageant, and demanding that the girls abide by certain purity rules to be in the pageant.

None of Carrie's questionable photographs came close to the skin exhibited by the swimsuit competition, and, certainly didn't even begin to come close to Shanna Moakler's spread in Playboy.

There was another girl dethroned earlier who demanded that Carrie lose her crown, too... but the other little girl had been out barhopping and poising for extremely lewd photographs while obviously drunk... so no comparison there either.

My guess is Carrie was probably very happy to be let go, because she'll have better things to accomplish with her life now.

I think it's hysterical that any of you even considers anything about a freakin' beauty pagent seriously.

Who says we do? I don't watch them. I think the pageant industry is one of the most hypocritical industries on the planet.

On the one hand, the girls are suppose to be pure and not involved in risque behavior at any time prior to their entering the pageant, and then they have the gay guys working with these girls, and judging them... which is the polar opposite of the Christian values these girls are suppose to represent. Not to mention them being dolled up and pranced around half-naked. So it's twisted to begin with...

Decades ago, at a state pageant, the girls were not even allowed to be around their boyfriends, brothers or fathers... but they could have gay guys helping with their hair and cosmetics. If all things are equal, then why have such hypocritical rules? The pageant chaperones were also escorting these dolled-up girls around to visit with slobbering rich businessmen. It was pukey to watch, as a relative of one of the contestants.

And can anyone take Shanna Moakler seriously about her quitting because of the degradation of the "values" the pageant is suppose to uphold... when a few years ago, she was naked and shining her goodies to the camera?

I speak up about it, because of the aftermath of these pageants. A perfectly lovely young woman has been thoroughly trashed because creepizoid Perez Hilton got his panties twisted. Pageants need to go the way of the dinosaur.
