As I watched the press conference last night, all I could see was Obama, a second year senator, a community organizer, standing up in front of the Nation, telling us WHAT HE wants.....how did this happen?....how is it that a guy, who is as little experience as he does, end up being President of the United States.....especially during time like this?........I say if it was NOT for people like Oprah, who adored him, and the media, who adored him....he would be a third year senator trying desperately to be reelected to serve a second term.

Oh, I know Exterminator....We lost; get over it.........it is just amazing to me, how apathetic the people of this country was before this election........I do think the tide is going to turn BACK to the right a tad...and in the long run, we will be okay.....

Hey, this is MY rant......and while I'm on it......why is it when spending is brought up about the vast amount that is being done now with congress........all I hear is ... "well it was okay with the right when Bush was doing it".....it is/was NEVER okay to spend, spend, spend......without ways to pay for things....NEVER.

The same way a guy like you who has no experience whatsoever, no education and seriously questionable literacy skills is allowed a podium like this forum on which to express his misguided views.

QuoteOh, I know Exterminator....We lost; get over it...

Correct.

Quote...it is just amazing to me, how apathetic the people of this country was before this election...

Actually, they weren't apathetic at all...people turned out to vote in record numbers to insure that those who say things like 'people was' didn't get to select another president.

Obama: Health Insurance Mandate No Tax Increase

He told CBS' "Face the Nation" that he will keep his pledge not to raise taxes on families earning up to $250,000, and that much of the final bill — hundreds of billions of dollars over the next 10 years — can be achieved from savings within the current system.

George Stephanopoulos challanges Obama on Tax Increase...

But a Democratic staff description of Sen. Max Baucus' bill calls the proposed fines an "excise tax." Penalties of up to $950 for individuals and $3,800 for families would be imposed on those who don't get coverage.

this is a basic lie....

the term "affordable housing" was used and implemented in the 90's.................NOW, the term "affordable healthcare" is being used and in the progress of being implemented........we have SEEN first hand what the results were, of the "affordable housing" fiasco that our government, just KNEW was the right thing to do.........I STILL believe, that we have to find OTHER options, than the road we are heading down right now.

"Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Muammar Qaddafi and Vladimir Putin have all praised Barack Obama. When enemies of freedom and democracy praise your president, what are you to think? When you add to this Barack Obama's many previous years of associations and alliances with people who hate America-- Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Father Pfleger, etc.-- at what point do you stop denying the obvious and start to connect the dots?"

I am staying home from work to be with my sick little girl today....and I have been stewing over another post about conservatism.....so, I am putting my thoughts on exactly what conservatism means to me.....this is MY view, It is not my intent to strike up a debate, this is simply me venting my thoughts on this, in my thread.....

but for me it comes down to a set of values that requires a faith of believing in what our forefathers humbly spoke often about.....and for me, accepting that God DID play an important role in developing the documents that set the standards what role or government has residing over this nation.

The fact there are many statements eluding to the dangers of big government, which has been growing and getting more and more out of control for the last several years, but liberals today are pushing this beyond a comprehensive state of mind.....

Thomas Jefferson alone has stated the following.....

"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not". (That is being proposed by the liberals...take away from THOSE who work hard from their money and give it to those who do not...)

"Most bad government has grown out of too much government"..."I am not a friend to a very energetic government. It is always oppressive".

"I think myself that we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious". (and that was over 200 years ago...can you imagine what he would bethinking NOW?)

And this one really strikes a chord with me...."Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have" ... "The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases".

"Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms [of government] those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny"..

And this is what drives it home for me......"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time."

For me, I have found that I should put my trust in God, not government, and to never confuse the two. I see conservatism as being the purest form of opportunity and allowing us, as Americans, the ability to pursue and accomplish success and happiness....and, for me, putting God first and foremost, is absolute, and not negotiable.

And, while I am getting all sappy, I honestly believe, that the greatness of this country is not in the power of the government, but in the goodness of the people and as a conservative, I have a trust in the people to make their own decisions and to be able to go after their own dreams, not to be hindered by GOVERNMENT....

Conservatives, want to let the entrepreneurs of this country not be constricted by government, but allow them to utilize their expertise to generate new jobs and ideas...that is what made this country...but a liberal government wants to punish those very people....

Conservatives want to be able to choose the best education for their kids....liberals want government to dictate WHAT kids are being taught.

Conservatives want the strongest and most capable military in the world....believing in peace through strength...I believe that evil DOES exist, and we have to be prepared to fight off this evil, for it wants nothing more than our existence to cease.....liberals, want to cut spending on military and believe we can be one big happy family...that evil will go away, if we can compromise with them...

I also believe that as American citizens, it is our place to take care of the "least of these" according to the Bible....not by government means, but by neighbor helping neighbor....this was always the way it was, BEFORE those in Washington decided that THEY knew better....and,honestly they have not made things any better...we have created a more dependent group of citizens......and the people of this country have neglected their duties and passed it on to government to do it....and they are failing.

Again, in my opinion, we need a revitalization in this Country....and, as I have stated earlier, it is imperative that we put GOD first and foremost....an old fashion revival could do wonders for this nation.....but,it is going to take people falling to their knees, to remember what was taught to them by past generations....going back to the generation who stated......."The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time."

More to come later...

are you quite certain Truthorfiction.com is a reliable source?.....just because they said it was NOT in the Jeffersonian Cyclopedia makes it untrue?......I appreciate the way you HAVE to try to PROVE or UNPROVE every OPINION that someone makes on here...anyway, there was two quotes on here that MAY or MAY not have been contributed by Jefferson, IF they are wrong, I apologize, but it does NOT take away from my point of MY OPINION, that I will not from this point, argue about...this is MY RANT in MY THREAD....I am simply stating WHY I am a conservative......

Once you attribute a QUOTE to someone, it is no longer in the realm of OPINION and must be supported by the FACTS.
