Ex, I WILL read your link....I have already.  and it is interesting, I will say....I find it funny you challange me at taking my STRONG resource for cato at face value, but you ARE taking your link at face value.....

Not at all, my friend, I scrutinize everything thoroughly before offering it for opinion.

Quote...the bottom line for me is.......and many, many agree, .... you CANNOT spend your way into prosperiety...

No, but you can prevent a total collapse which is what we will see if the government doesn't address a few key issues facing our economy.

Quote...and TAX cuts and reducing the burden of government are proven ways to boost growth.

Both are ultimately good things in an otherwise robust economy but that is not what we have.

I don't agree with everything he says here but this article offers some food for thought (keep in mind while reading it that it was written during Bush's tenure): http://www.alternativesmagazine.com/25/beaton.html

Bookmarked. Excellent common-sense article, Henry.

LMMFAO!  I'll bet this stooge wishes he could've seen the eventual meltdown of our economy in a crystal ball before he wrote this!  I appreciate that people like you weren't quite good enough at math to have avoided being taken in by this ruse but what I fail to understand is how, given the tax cuts enacted by the Bush administration (which are still intact, by the way) and the results we are seeing now, you still come to the conclusion that this is a winning strategy.  Are you so wrapped up in ideology that reality eludes you?

First of all, the Bush Tax cuts WAS working, until the housing market came to a head, along with Auto Bailouts and Bank Bailouts..........his tax cuts had NOTHING to do with the current situation....see Barney Frank for further explanation...

I think, we have reached a point of unprecedented times....I think, we need to suspend capital taxes on ALL business' for a set amount of time and suspend federal taxes form employee's payroll to all federal tax paying workers for the summer...THAT would STIMULATE and promote consumer confidence....it would END this recession quickly.

LMAO!  Sure blame whatever democrat you can find even if he isn't responsible.  No, the Bush tax cuts were not working and if they were the panacea you claim, the other situations wouldn't have even been possible.  Tax cuts without associated cuts in spending are nothing more than the government taking your money via devaluation of the currency rather than directly out of your hand.

Ok, let's put your assertion into practice; shall we?  Let's say we cut GM's taxes by several billion dollars so now GM has several billion more dollars to spend and, following your logic, that means they will hire more people; correct?  How is that different from simply giving GM several billion dollars which we have recently done?  Doesn't either action result in GM having the same amount of money?  How many people are they hiring as a result of that infusion of cash?  What's that?  They're laying off tens of thousands more?  How can that be?

well, the Bush tax cuts created millions private sector jobs and had unemployment rate at 4.6%....that with the recession he inherited, along with 9/11, a war AND Katrina...........

and it really is not hard to see where Barney played a huge hand in forcing banks into giving loans to people that SHOULD not have had loans....

I agree, tax cuts AND cut in spending IS the best for this country no mater how you slice it....

Tax cuts are not just to benefit GM...it is designed to go to ALL business BIG and SMALL...giving MORE capital to create MORE jobs, which in turn creates more customers, which creates more federal revenue being generated via fed taxes.....which creates a sound economy.

jeeeshhh!...why is it you cannot understand this very simply concept?....it has been done before....it DOES work.

Garbage.  What you would like to believe is inconsistent with reality for those of us who actually work in the business world.

Quote...and it really is not hard to see where Barney played a huge hand in forcing banks into giving loans to people that SHOULD not have had loans....

Better go do your homework before you make yourself look even more uninformed.

If you can't apply an economic principal at the micro level and show consistent results, it doesn't work at the macro level either.

I guess it's just because I'm stupid and that my education and decades of business experience can't compare to the knowledge you've gained reading your right-wing blogs and listening to Rush Limbaugh.  Whatever you do, don't tell my fortune 500 clients that I don't know my shit; I've got them all fooled.
