I don't understand what your point is?

No? Olias understood it as did Ex:

That isn't possible.  Everyone knows that any business that pays more than $8.00 an hour fails immediately.

This is PRECISELY the warning they use in the entry levels of economics courses to warn you against the improper use of averages.

Joe applies for a job at a small company. When he goes in for an interview, he is told that the average salary is $50,000 per year. What they don't tell him is that the owner draws $200K, one employee - $30K, two - $20K, and two - $15K.

BTW, the median hourly wage at Walmart for a worker with 1-4 years experience is $9.54.

I am responding to Troll, who wondered how many min wage workers Walmart has.

I am stating that the Average Full-time, HOURLY, U.S. associate at Walmart makes....$12.57 PER HOUR.  Not the median, the average US Associate that is FULL-TIME.  According to the link I provided earlier.

The "average" hourly wage at my employer is $21.50/hr. (Not in Madison county either).  And they have been there since 1906.

Does the average employe at your business run a cash registar?  Stock Shelves?  How much shoud a person who operates a cash registar make in your opinion?

btw, I am NOT a supporter of Walmart.  Nobody is forcing anybody to work there.

No but they DO perform very similar tasks to that which a certain local Madison County employer does, and they are paying their employees 10 bucks an hour and providing the same healthcare coverage for a HIGHER premium.

And um, I hate to tell you this but the STATE IS forcing people to take jobs very similar to those offered up by Walmart, and holding their unemployment benefits hostage in doing so.

People with 4 year college degrees are now working as hourly employees and holding labor positions that pay 10/hr or less.

Could you get by on making 10/hr and paying 98 dollars a week for your healthcare insurance?

No, but raising the min wage a couple of bucks is NOT going to fix this problem........THAT is my whole point.  Obama wanting to raise the min wage is NOT going to fix our economy.  It is NOT going to create jobs.  This nation needs JOBS to fix this economy.  I know you hate these words, but "Drill, baby Drill"  will create thousands and thousands of good paying jobs.  Just look at North Dakota.

The link you provided was to a comment from the CEO of Walmart pumping up his propaganda machine. Why don't you look at the results from an independent study?

You still don't understand the use of the word 'median.'  Let me help ....

Here is about the simplest explanation I could find without using crayons....

Median Value

The Median is the "middle number" (in a sorted list of numbers).

How to Find the Median Value

To find the Median, place the numbers you are given in value order and find the middle number.
Example: find the Median of {12, 3 and 5}

Put them in order:

3, 5, 12

The middle number is 5, so the median is 5.

Now for another quiz, what is the AVERAGE of the numbers above?

You say that raising the minimum wage $2 isn't going to fix this problem.  Your Republican business men sent the jobs out of the country which is the problem.  But this $2 raise will give the working poor extra an $80 a week to spend, which they will and certainly help the economy.

It is amazing Hawk how you want to make money all the money your can, even tho you haven't had a raise in 3 years.  But you don't want to give anyone under your standard of living a raise on their little, little wage, compaired to you Hawk.

What is so hard to understand about minimum wage goes up, hours go down, prices go up, things are the same, or worse, as a result?

Then tell me old wise one, how does it work?  While you're at it explain too exactly how businesses make up for the extra cost of doing business due to the increase in wages.

Businesses make up for it by selling more when the people making minimum wage have more money with which to buy things.

I'm glad it works that way in your world 'cause I certainly see it differently in the real world.  In the real world the employee's hours get cut first which doesn't give them the "extra" money in their pocket past maybe one or two weeks,  prices go up to make up the difference, usually the first week,  no extra hiring is done because of the cost, the people who are already making more than minimum wage have to pay the increased cost of goods caused by the wage increases,  and everyone loses.  It is a no win situation when the government gets involved in something the market is adjusting to itself otherwise most places wouldn't already be paying more than minimum wage.

Wouldn't cuttng taxes across the board be a more fair way to "allowing" more people to spend, which in return business sell more.  THAT would generate MORE federal revenue.

I just think the government should NOT interfere with the "free market".  Forcing a business to pay MORE and MORE and MORE is NOT good for a sluggish economy.

While I am on it, the Fair Tax is a system that needs to be seriously considered.  It is a WIN/WIN for everyone.

You have no idea what goes on in the real world and only believe it works the way you think it does because someone fed you that bullshit and you're gullible.
