And you know that for a fact.  I'm certainly glad you know every businessman and all about every business in the US.  I think you had better go back and check out what happened the last two times it was raised again.

Lolly, why don't you please tell us what happened, Huh?  I sure never seen a Republican recession like we have now, because of a raise, Lolly Pop.

You need to learn three simple words: demand drives production.

We are in a recession, and unemployment is high because there's no demand for workers...so OBVIOUSLY there is no drive for production.

Glad you looked up Mr. Brown.  YOU could learn very much from him.

Yes, I do.  Businesses that weren't viable before any such increase and that subsequently failed can't be blamed on an increase in the minimum wage when 99.9999999% of businesses did not.

Thank you for illustrating that you know nothing about supply/demand.

Still waiting on the information about his so-called business I requested.

just a few facts to keep this on topic...
The average minumum wage worker lives in a family making over $50,000 a year.
The majority of minimum wage workers are teenagers or college student woring part time, so they are trying to support hemselves (or a family) with their income.
Only ONE out of NINE workers who this would actually benefit, live in poverty.  Raising the min wage will NOT affect many poor families.  There are better solutions to help these folks, rather than forcing business' to be burdened by an additional 20% of revenue, they are already struggling with.

Way to parrot the heritage foundation!  Obama specifically addressed the issue of people receiving minimum wage who work full time.

Henry you must have shit for brains.   Just were do you come up with this shit.   Just how many minimum wage worker does Walmart hire.  How many business in Anderson pay more than minimum wages.  Hell, in Anderson college educated people are making $10 to $11 an hour.  All of the high paying union jobs are gone.

What get me "JACK", you're all for it and you want to protect business and you don't have a dog in this fight.  That's right Jack *ff.

I don't know how many min wage workers that Walmart hires....I tknow the average wage at Walmart is $12.57 per hour.  That is far MORE than the min wage.

The "average" hourly wage at my employer is $21.50/hr. (Not in Madison county either).  And they have been there since 1906.

Well that's an apples to oranges comparison if I ever saw one.  A lot of the problem with Anderson is 16 consecitive years of a liberal mayor, the same person, plus GM, Guide, and the Church of God now allowing a lot of businesses to come in.

That isn't possible.  Everyone knows that any business that pays more than $8.00 an hour fails immediately.

This is PRECISELY the warning they use in the entry levels of economics courses to warn you against the improper use of averages.

Joe applies for a job at a small company. When he goes in for an interview, he is told that the average salary is $50,000 per year. What they don't tell him is that the owner draws $200K, one employee - $30K, two - $20K, and two - $15K.

BTW, the median hourly wage at Walmart for a worker with 1-4 years experience is $9.54.

Yep!  If Bill Gates walks into a bar, the median income of everyone in the place goes up dramatically.

Just exactly how much do think a Wal-Mart employee should make?  And another question would be what good does it do if they're making $15 pr hr if they don't get enough hours to make a difference in their pay check and, in some instances, may make even less?    Raising the minimum wage sounds good on the surface, yes, but you really need to think past that and realize what the end result will be.  It does hurt the retail and fast food employee whether you choose to believe it or not.
