We SHOULD have between 20 and 30 inches of SNOW on the ground, but noooooooooooo! Instead, we've got shitloads of water and that is getting ready to turn to ice overnight. . .

We took a little ride and drove through Falls Park this morning, the water was up to the third step on the bridge and there was a tree trunk about 20+ feet long complete with roots lodged just before the little footbridge. Then we went to north Anderson and the road is closed by the bridge, then on to Edgewater Park in Park Place and the water was within about 30 feet from 10th Street. Lots of water, but I've seen worse.

"Transferring your retail prescriptions is easy", says the propaganda from the mail order pharmacy my employer requires you to use or you will pay a lot more money by using retail. . .

BULLSHIT!

I go on line and try to do that, confident in the knowledge that the retail pharmacy I am currently using is a member of the mail order pharmacy.

Not only was it NOT fucking easy, but I had to call them. THEN find out they are going to have to have the doctor fax them a prescription instead of just transferring the god damn prescriptions I have a YEAR of refills on!

This is not mine, but I thought I would pass it on....despite democrat or republican.......this is a problem we, Americans face.

Financial Statement of the United States of America:

    *U.S. Tax revenue:     $2,170,000,000,000
    *Federal budget:         $3,820,000,000,000
    *New debt:                 $1,650,000,000,000
    *National debt:          $16,571,000,000,000

    *Recent budget cuts:       $38,500,000,000

Now lets remove the 8 zero's and pretend it it a family household budget:

        *Family income:                                $21,700
        *Money the family spent:                $38,200
*New debt on the credit card:          $16,500
*Outstanding debt on credit cards:          $165,710
*Total budget cuts so far:                     $385

Just one way of putting things in perspective....

Because the types of expenditures normal for a family are simply a microcosm of those for a nation; right?  Simpletons...

Why is it different?  Now I realize a household can't just print more money or raise it by making their employer pay more but it's basically living within a budget and not falling to the pressures of spending more just because you want something or your kids are lobbying for the latest fashion or cool toy and you don't want to tell them no because they might not take the trash out or do their chores if you refuse them.

You can't borrow your way out of debt, whether you're a typical American family or the entire U.S. government. At some point, you've got to say, "Enough is enough!" and make the hard cuts necessary to win over the long haul....that is the point.  Simpleton?  I guess.  It is NOT rocket science.
