The right fan in my MacBook has been making intermittent noise lately and it appears to have taken a final crap just this morning.  :mad:

I was thinking about making the attempt.  I can pick up the fan for a little over $20.00, but I've never cracked open a MacBook before.  Don't really want to fug' anything up.  It's my baby after all.  ;D

Possibly.  ;D

I've always found them to be a bit overpriced.  But I guess that's the same as the Apple Store which is always overpriced.

I was afraid too, but the genius bar may be your answer. Sometimes they have supplier issues and you may get lucky like I did and only have to part with your baby for a night or two, and have her delivered to your door, in working order and good as new, for nothing but the time and gas you spend getting her to the genius bar . . .  :yes:

I just called a certified repair place that's closer than the Apple store and they quoted me $135.00 for just the damn labor.   :mad: :mad: :mad:   Now I either have to drive all the way over to the Galleria mall (close to the beach - I'm out west), or attempt to do it myself.

That might be a Saturday plan.  ;D

About the only thing I can't do is stream long videos.  One fan isn't enough to keep the temperature in the acceptable range.  Otherwise, as long as I'm just doing email or surfing the Internet, the one fan is sufficient.
