Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis and the former Carolina wide receiver Rae Carruth accused of murder - still playing (lewis) Accused not convicted

Marvin Harrison possibly involved in shooting - retired  Not definitely involved and he's retired

Jets Matt O'Dwyer and Jumbo Elliott - Bar Fight (Elliott retired, O'Dwyer played for the New York Jets (1995-1998), the Cincinnati Bengals (1999-2003), and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2004).[  Wow a bar fight really a good comparison there.

Denard Walker, a starting cornerback for the Tennessee Titans, guilty to assault on the mother of his son. Still playing for Oakland  I have nothing to say on this one because I have no use for a man who hits a woman but still no comparison to what Vic did.

Plaxico Burress of the New York Giants shot himself accidentally with an unregistered handgun in a night club - Jailed  Still not the same.

Wow. . . I find it curious that you elevate acts of violence against animals above those against human beings. . . You an ASPCA or PETA card carryng member too?

Your cynicism is now clearly showing. . . and it is very disheartening to see.

Palehorse YOU are disheartening me, I clearly am not talking about anyone other than VICK.  HE IS A DICK.  (that ryhmes).

How am I being cyincal?.....and how on God's green earth did you drag the POTUS into this conversation?

THAT is what I find disheartening....you got to make me out a "raciest"?  Is that what you really think of me?

Vick KILLED dogs in a cruel fashion....for fun and profit.  I agree with Ex, this not a condition that you just "flip" and become a better person.  This is the kind of person he is......and I don't like him. PERIOD.

I hope he never does it again, and I hope he continues to work for charities and whatever..............What he did was inexcusable.

as far as the NBA and other creeps in sports.....start a thread and I will discuss each one if you want.

Troll, I no longer will engage any further discussions with you....I am done. ;)

You want to talk about criminals in the NFL? Try these for starters :

Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis and the former Carolina wide receiver Rae Carruth accused of murder - still playing (lewis)

Marvin Harrison possibly involved in shooting - retired

Jets Matt O'Dwyer and Jumbo Elliott - Bar Fight (Elliott retired, O'Dwyer played for the New York Jets (1995-1998), the Cincinnati Bengals (1999-2003), and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2004).[

Denard Walker, a starting cornerback for the Tennessee Titans, guilty to assault on the mother of his son. Still playing for Oakland

Plaxico Burress of the New York Giants shot himself accidentally with an unregistered handgun in a night club - Jailed

Each of the above were involved in off field acts of violence against human beings, ( some including murder), and they are playing, played on, or retired for the most part. So somehow your rantings about Vicks atrocities and the NFL's decision surrounding allowing him to retain eligibility rings kind of hollow; especially considering you have never voiced anything similar when the actions of the accused concerned human beings. . .

And the NBA is by far worse surrounding off court acts violence toward others. (FYI)

First I will start with the NBA....I no longer follow the NBA, the main reason is...is because of what you have mentioned...I see no one worth watching that suits my style of ball or anyone that I admire.

The NFL men you mentioned...I can care less about any of them, but NONE of those you called out are not even in the same class of scum as Vick....Ex pointed out another interesting fact.....Vick would still be killing dogs if he had never got caught....he did, and now he is trying to save his ass.

How about someone who hunts deer with a bow.  You know how many gut shots there are or how long a deer take to bleed out when shot by a four blade razor sharp arrow goes through it.  Or about the people to kill the chickens, beef, pork we eat.

But for thousand of years men have fought their game cocks, their dogs fighting bulls for the sport of it.  He paid dearly for it.  So why don't you get a life and forget about it.  I wouldn't be about him being black would it?  It over and you can't do a damn thing about it.  Bleed out.

There's a difference between animal cruelty and hunting for food.

I personally despise Michael Vick and everything he represents. He makes me sick. That being said, he did pay his debt to society and has earned another chance to be a contributing member of the human race.

Is the NFL using his notority for gain? Sure. Is anyone naïve enogh to think it's all about the "love of the game" at that level?

Back to Ex's original point, I agree, the president should have left that one alone. Had he called Joe Schmoe and applauded him for giving an Ex-con an opportunity, then it would have been different.

Hey, I just put it out there, I can't help it if you don't understand it.
The point is that I think he's being used by the NFL. They didn't allow him to play for the "greater good". Should he be allowed to play? I don't care. Had he not been punished, then my feelings on it would be stronger. Will I watch him? No. Will I buy his products or in any way contribute to his livlihood? No.

Sandy I agree with you on everything, but I really don't care if he is accepted back into the human race....at least at this point of time I do not.  I can think of only a few that I feel this way about...OJ is another that is in that same category.

Maybe I am not the "Christian" YOU think I am....and I may not be worthy of using that title...but I am who I am.  I am not ashamed of not wanting this Man to be "forgiven" simply because he went to jail.  I think he has a lot more to prove as far as I am concerned.  Do I want him to die? NO.  Do I hope he is repentent?  Yes.  It does not mean I have to "Like" him.

Listen, what I think don't mean a hill of beans.....he is playing in the NFL and making millions....and he is a known, DOG KILLER.

for me, I will not support him or wish him well.  HE made the decisions and got caught.  If this makes me a hypocrit in your eyes...then so be it.

I agree.

I understand the philosophy that underlies the "rehabilitation" theory.

I don't hunt either and the animals killed for food are done in the most humane way possible under the circumstances.

Fucking puh-lease.  The only reason you are defending him is because he can throw a football.  It's ok though, I get it...spectator sports are great for those who never accomplish anything and are content with living vicariously through the successes of others.  Far be it from me to taint your fantasies about blowing your favorite sports "hero".

Surrounding the "NFL using him", HAH! Show me one person the NFL is NOT using! Hell they're fleecing the taxpayers across the country by making them pay for these palaces of battle. . . (By proxy for the owners).
