Have you seen the movie "Idiocracy"? Not a great movie and although it's intended to be a comedy, I think it's too realistic to be funny!

Same here.  We were thinking about watching it again but still have some movies we haven't watched yet so haven't gotten around to it.

This year the HOA of my subdivision has contracted with the city of Anderson to take care of our lighting and plowing the streets. Here's the results of a city plow coming down my street just about 10 minutes ago:











I stopped the guy just before I took the first picture of the plow (Plate number 26165 as is clearly visible in the picture of it) I asked him if he had seen what he had done to my parkway? He said, "Oh we'll clean it up when the weather breaks". BULLSHIT! That is the sod that runs 90% of the parkway the length of my property! And he has peeled it all off, to the dirt!

I called and e-mailed the HOA, they are now telling me I have to contact the City of Anderson, which I just did. This had better not turn into a god damned finger pointing game, because if it does I am going to leave the damned parkway just the way it is and let the weed grow where there was once sod. . .  :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

HOA and the City of Anderson. :eek:  That sounded like a recipe for disaster before I read any further. :rolleyes:  Try to keep it under control PH, some things just ain't worth the stress.

I am going to let it stay just the way it is. And I better not get a letter from the HOA next spring about the weeds and crappy condition of my parkway, because when I do I will remind them that we pay them and that this situation is their responsibility surrounding representation to the city, and they have failed miserably. . . Fuckers. . .

I think it's time for Mr Guinness and Mr Cuervo to come out and play now. . .

I talked to the dispatcher at the COA and she said she'd notify the supervisor. Next, I am going to send 8.5 and 11 pictures of the damage and the truck to the city via registered mail, along with a request for reparations. . . :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

I am still fuming over this crap. . .  Guess I better go to Menards and Lowes to see if they have any grass seed on clearance. I already know I am going to have to buy about 6 bags of black dirt and seeds this spring to fix this damned damage that jackwagon did to my parkway. . . :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

And right on cue following the events in Tucson, now the gun grabbers are starting their rhetoric and screaming about wanting/needing yet more restrictions upon law abiding citizens and law abiding firearm owners!

The above article targets "assault weapons and high capacity magazines for firearms", and a bunch of other mamby pamby land tripe that will do nothing but punish the law abiding firearms owner.

What sense does it make to punish law abiding citizens for the actions of those who break the laws of humankind?

It really makes one wonder just why it is that they are pushing so hard to disarm law abiding Americans!  :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

IN one section of the article the writer attempts to make his case for reinstatement of the ban on high capcity magazines by saying: . . ."More generally, research by Christopher Koper of the Police Executive Research Forum suggests that on average, only one in every three or four shots fired by criminal assailants winds up hitting someone. Having a high-capacity magazine enables criminals to fire more rounds more quickly; all else equal, more shots fired means more victims shot.. . ."

Give me a fuggin break here jackass. Using the speculative information out there, the perp was using a magazine that held 30/31 rounds. (I suspect it was 33 rounds since most of the high capacity mags for the Glock 19 I have found are 33). He emptied his magazine and was reloading when he was stopped. So, with 30 rounds he killed 6 people and wounded 13, so that's 19 "hits" out of 30 shots. If this "theory" were true then he should have only hit 7.5 of his targets. . . Instead he accomplished a 63.33% success rate, hitting his target every 1.58 shots. . .

And he was not trained by the military! Had he only possessed a 10 round capacity magazine he'd have still hit 7 out of 10 shots before having to eject the mag and pop in another. . .

And based upon my own experience with the aftermarket high capacity magazines out there, I strongly suspect that the only reason they were able to tackle this guy before reloading was the fact the magazine stuck in the firearm more than anything else. Had he been using Glock manufactured magazines that would not have happened and he'd have still been shooting. . .
