Makes a normally non-violent person contemplate the effectiveness of boot-in-a$$ therapy.
Ya got that right.  There was another woman who had some things in her arms and I know what she must have been thinking about doing.  The woman that's usually overseeing the self check out wasn't there and I've seen her run people out of that line with less than this woman had.  The one that was there when this happened is normally at the regular registers and obviously wasn't thinking or was afraid to say anything to her.

You know that could be why they are 'self serve'.   Self serving. hmmm   You ever notice it doesn't say speedy check out?
Looks like I've come full circle.

I love it when I go to the grocery to pick up just a few things and get into the self serve checkout and there's someone using it with a cart full of grocery's talking on a cell phone taking her own sweet time like she's the only one in the whole store.

This is where Meijer got things right. They have the 15 items or less self service check outs, and the unlimited items self service checkouts. Of course the employees watching over these lines still have to shag inconsiderate jerks out of the 15 items or less lines. . .

And while we're at it, let's talk about the inconsidarate jerks who buy scratch off lottery tickets, and stand there scratching them, and claiming any prize, (usualy more tickets) while the rest of us are waitng to pay for a purchase.

One day of a no limit open season is all I ask for!

Hey, what about those rollers on the self checkout at Meijer's.  Nothing will roll down them and there really no place to put your stuff if you have more that 10 items.  I just love the way all of the big box stores are on Friday afternoon with only 2 checkout open out of 16.

Self check out, putting up your carts, when do we get to stock the shelves.

 I hear that. A little over a week ago I was in Kentucky and while there took my sister to the Kroger for some groceries. I almost had a heart attack when they not only bagged the groceries, but the kid bagging pushed the cart out to the truck, loaded our groceries into it, and took the cart back for us too! I thought I had somehow jumped into the "wayback machine" and been transported back to the 50's!

I was so impressed I slipped the kid a fin and he acted like I'd given him a grand!  You just don't get that level of service anymore. . .

It's the same in Tn, at least it is at the Kroger where my grandson works.

That's all nice service...but who bagged the groceries, pushed out the cart, unloaded it and took the cart back for the person in line behind you?  Do they employ that many baggers at the kroger to give that level of service to EVERY customer at EVERY checkout line?

The ones I've had the pleasure to shop at had one or two more sackers than they had lanes open, depending on how busy they were, and it seemed to work fairly well.  I will have to admit I was never there during what would be a "peak" hour though.  I'll ask my grandson how his store handles that.  ;)

Kroger in Noblesville have the serve  your self check out and guess what.  The have baggers and they almost beg you to take your groceries to your car and put them in the car for you and you can't believe this, they have a Union.  I know one lady who retired last month from Kroger after 30 years.

Anyone else watching what is going on in Greece? If not you should: it is a clear example of what the current administration is trying to prevent from happening in this country! (And it may happen anyway).
