Why doesn't Kirstie Alley just put the twinkies down or have her pie hole sewn shut for about 6 months and be fed via IV? She's such a beautiful and funny woman, but she's going to need her own zip code pretty soon! That woman shaking her hips is probably why we're seeing so many seismic events lately!

You seen the new promo's for her latest gig? She shakes those hips and that dress she's wearing creates hurricanes!

She looks like she has put back on everything she lost and they brought along a lot of friends!

I know it's probably silly on my part, but crap like that concerns me.  When you consider the obesity rate in the U.S. and her basically flaunting weight mismanagement and yo-yo dieting. Then you have another asshole who's eatin 12,000 calories a day trying to reach 1000 lbs so that she can be in the record books as the world's heaviest person. While weight gain/loss is a personal choice and I support that...I don't like such an extreme being such a public event...or that's probably not the right phrase, do you know what I mean though?

Exactly. She's basically encouraging people to embrace ignoring their physical health.

I just wonder what is going to happen when she crashes though. She's waddling around trying to make fun of her increasing mass, and even making fun of it, but when she realizes she has just be overcompensating for her lack of self esteem and control, will she be yet another celebrity suicide victim? Or will she go on Oprah again and claim the "poor pitiful fat girl", "I don't know how I got this big" role?

Give me a break. . . She's funny and beautiful, but man she's an Easter Pig too!

I never did understand the deal with all the weight gain in the first place. And what the heck does she have to worry about that would effect her self-esteem.  You already said it, and it's true, she is a beautiful and funny woman (I'm jealous).

PH, I think I saw the commercial that you were referring to. Ugh, seriously, I wonder if she has the ability to proof them before they air. She is pretty and funny, but she's making herself look sad and desparate.

Since I rarely watch adult tv, I just dug up the commercial I think you're referring to, at least found one on Youtube that has Kirstie flaunting/dancing around in a blue t-strap dress.

She admits to gaining back the 75 lbs she lost and this show is supposedly intended to show america her progress in attempting to take it back off....am I watching? Ummm....no. Probably not. Too much drama, although I find it interesting to see iconic women like Oprah & Kirstie struggle with their weight gain cycles.

And I agree surrounding change; and certainly yet another reality show that makes fun of it at the expense of the marquee persona is not constructive change.

And that is exactly my perspective on the whole thing. Why, if she is indeed so desperate, is she going to subject herself to the media shark school and all it brings with it? This all of course assumes that she has consulted with a physician or two surrounding this challenge, and there is no medical condition (physical) that is behind it. She just has a weed and feed issue apparently. (Smokes weed then eats).

With her money she can afford a personal trainer, a dietician and chef - to ensure she maintains a healthy level of caloric intake and physical activity to lose the weight and keep it off. But no. . .

I hear that. The repugs have been screaming about allowing it, and now the POTUS has, but not totally. He's opened the Gulf area 125 miles off shore, and the area off the coast of Virginia; but the pacific remains off limits for the most part. It also allows cook inlet in Alaska to be drilled, but not much else new outside of that. East coast is pretty much open but the west coast remains off limits. And they're squalling on both sides of the fence. . .

He's just doing what he said he would do during the run up to the election, "open drilling in a way that makes sense and takes into account environmental and economic concerns". As opposed to the "dill baby drill" approach of McCain and Palin.
