I know that hurts. The shame of it is that there's not a lot that can be done about a broken toe. You might get some good painkillers.
Strongest thing we have in the house is Kroger aspirin.

On a serious note, have you tried to ice on it? I'd put  it on for about 15 or 20 minutes, then take it off for about the same and them put it back on. Make sure you keep it elevated above your heart.

 I just had a mental picture of you at your computer desk with your leg all up in the air...sorry..that's not funny.

Seriously, I hope it feels better.

I think I broke one of my toes earlier today.... I got my Tri-Star vacuum out 'cause I was gonna do the floors and the furniture too and left the beater bar laying on the floor while I did my 'puter desk and stuff and started to go to the living room and my toe met with the beater bar part of the sweeper and it hurt like hell but not like its hurting now...it hurts clear up to my knee... Can't even stand to touch it to see if its really broke or just jammed.   Been tryin' the mind over matter thing for the last two hours and it ain't workin' damn it....

Tape it to the toes it is next to and take some aleve or advil. Or, you could just make yourself a good stiff drink and that will cure it too!

At Christmas time, I was hanging some small little stockings on one of the fireplace mantels.....I laid the hammer on the bottom mantle...I was hanging the stockings on the middle of the 3 mantles that the fireplace has.....hit that darn hammer with my elbow and it fell right on my left big toe.  It bruised all up and was every color you could imagine.....still has a hump on it today and I did it well over a month ago.  Doesn't hurt unless someone touches it now...but it hurt like heck when I did it.  I think I even made up some new cuss words....

You can tell PH has some experience with this. Sports?

Honestly, it's about all you can do. The drink is imperative though. ;D Just tell hubby it's an important part of the healing process - Dr. PH and Nurse Eggo said so

If you didn't, then I did, just reading this. OMG that must have hurt!

It sounds like you might have broken it and it hasn't healed right. You might want to have that looked at.

No way I can elevate my foot at the 'puter desk so I just don't move it.  Can't take Advil or Aleve so I'm stuck with plain old aspirin I guess. Hubby was a dear and cooked supper and even brought it to me.  :smitten: When it gets to where I can stand to touch it I'll probably tape it and hope that will help too. I've stubbed my toes and ran into stuff before and it ain't never hurt this bad...Ain't never kept me down either.... >:(

ICE. . . Use it to bring the swelling down and numb it, then after you tape it up keep it on ice for the first 24-36 hours. Then heat after that.
Ice takes down the swelling and after 36 hours or so the heat will help it heal by increasing blood flow. Use a good first aid tape, the white stuff. That way you won't have to change it every time you shower. . . Just every other time.

I've broken toes so many times it isn't funny. HURTS LIKE HELL TOO! Get some comfy shoes to wear for the next week or two. . . And I'd use tylenol if you can take it. Aspirin will eat your guts up. . . I'm telling yah, a good long pull or two on the whiskey bottle will help tons! But not with the tylenol though. That'll make your liver quiver!

Hell I broke my fingers so many time playing hockey (fights and sticks and frozen pucks) that I set them myself and used the tape method on them too!

Man... that sucks!!!! It always hurts like hell when you stub your toe. I hope it isn't broken.   This is gonna sound weird but.... the only time I don't have my shoes on, is when I'm in the shower,or in bed. I cannot stand to go without shoes. I have extremely sensitive and tender feet. Everytime my bare feet hit the floor the pain is horrific. I know.... weird huh?  :spooked:

I can not stand to wear shoes....I would make a good hillbilly woman.  I usually have on house slippers around the house...even in the summertime.  heck...I even wear my house slippers outside and I have some that look like regular shoes and I wear them to the store.  But usually when I go out...I will wear a pair of clogs.  I have about 8 pairs of those things...all different colors.  For Christmas, I got a pair of Colts clogs....love em......
