A friend of mine was killed by a drunk driver on New Years Day. Head on collision killed him instantly. The drunk survived.  :'(

I am sorry to hear this my friend.  It's time to get the lawyers involved.

Yup! His wife (widow) has already retained a hi power shark to shred him / fleece him. He is facing severe charges on top of that.

PH.... I'm sooooo sorry to hear that.  :'(  The drunks always survive horrible wrecks that kill innocent people. I don't know why that is but, it's not fair.  I hope they nail that drunk to the wall.

She should get to run him over back and forth with her car.

Hang in there Pale.

Nothing like a big wad of cash to make one forget all about the pain and loss. [/sarcasm]

Yep! That's what I told her. The company that owns the vehicle the drunk was driving has already approached her about "settling"! I told her to tell them to go pound sand and listen to her lawyer.

We bury him in the morning. . . and I've got to travel to get there. . . If it were warmer I'd ride the bike because he would have loved that. . .  :-\

Instead, I'll ride to his grave in the spring and toast him heartily. . . It's now number one on my list of destinations for 2009.

No harm no foul FTW. GOJ was just implying that she should sue the hell out of the guy; which she is going to do along with his company. The guy is being charged with vehicular manslaughter among other things. She'll prolly have to get in line with his attorney anyway where he is concerned.

It's a statement often utilized as validation for suing by sharks and others.

The money doesn't make the loss go away or remove the hurt, but it sure can ensure a higher level of comfort in life for her moving forward. . .

Really? I got a different feeling from the way GOJ phrased that.

Well, I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again. . .  That's the way I took it though. Or chose to.
