you're right henry.  the problem is, you gotta BE responsible if you are going to successfully teach responsibility.  most of our generation really seems reluctant to accept any responsibility.  we just want to be young (ie, carefree) forever.

Hey Isabelle, it is just so good to see you back with us.. and this is the thread for venting...make it as long as you want....and get it off of your chest...... ;)

incidently i agree with you, that many parents today, do not teach kids about being responsible.........they either bail them out everytime they get in touble or these kids simply are following their parents footsteps and want to place blame on everybody else...

Hi Henry, I am glad to see you again and I am glad to be back.

I saw a commercial on TV last night about ice cream. Who ever won the ball game got ice cream. There were some adults standing around and the ball came to a ladies feet. She kicked the ball and screamed in a child face "IN YOUR FACE" I guess because she wanted ice cream. Whats wrong with this picture?
I see things like this on TV all the time.
I think TV is contributing to children's disrespect all the time. Everything is geared to kids and kids are mostly telling the adults what to do or out smarting them or even out thinking them. With kids being glued to the TV without parents being home .. I think children could very easy get this mixed up with life. It is wrong. Parents need to be home with their children. Not counting working or the occasional night out. I am talking about being gone selling drugs, dating a lot and just running around.

I hate Walmart!!!!!     Today, I went to do my weekly shopping. It took me 15 minutes to get my stuff. I HAD TO STAND IN LINE FOR AN HOUR AT THE CHECKOUT!!!!!     It was packed and they only had three lanes, and one express open.  Then, as my luck seems to go  my cashier was an elderly lady, with what I can only assume is advanced dementia. It took forever for her to ring my stuff up. An old man 2 carts behind me waited a half an hour, and the manager came and told the cashier, she could go on her break. She told the old man she was closed, and he went berserk, and said "Maybe I ought to just dump this on the floor" LMAO!!!! I'm thinking of organizing a one day boycott.  :icon_twisted: I think it would work. People are sick to death of that crap.

I was a cashier for many years.  Whenever there are customers in your line...you should never..I repeat NEVER...deny ringing up a customer if they are in line.  You can ask the last customer in line to relate to others who may come up behind him/her that you are closing ....but never just leave a customer standing.  If I had been on duty as a manager when she did this...she would have been received a write up.  Happens again...you lose your job. PERIOD!!!!!!  just my thoughts...
Dogs come when they're called; cats take a message and get back to you later.

The manager is the one who sent her on her break. For a minute I thought she was gonna leave me there with my stuff, and not ring it up. At my job as long as there is someone at the counter you CANNOT walk away from it. Sometimes we're sooooo busy I can't even get out to the dining room. Then customers bitch about the tables being dirty. A register person can't win for losing IMO.
