Ewww!! That has got to suck!

Vent: never stick your fingers outside a car window if anyone has any control to your window at all. I did that last night when my husband cracked the windows because it got super foggy and the defrosters weren't doing their job. I already was resting my elbow on the window sill and had my fingers up at the top of the window, so when it opened, my fingers instintively sought the cooler air and popped outside. Next thing I know, the window is closing (remember, it was only cracked so I didn't have much time to react) and my fingers were suddenly being pulled, pinched, and bent backwards all at the same time. UGH!! Hurt like a m/f'er! Still feels weird. Grr

Aren't you windows supposed to stop when they come in contact with something?

One time I got mad at my brother and rolled him up in the electric window in my mom's car. This was in the 70's so the windows didn't have sensors. He was half in and half out and was beating on the outside of the car with his fists.  BOY did I ever get it!!

Garage doors have sensors but I've never heard of car windows having sensors unless it is on the more expensive models...I could be wrong though.

Mine is supposed to have sensors; Luckily, I have never had to find out. Too bad for my brohter they didn't have them 30 years ago.

I think the sensors are a fairly new thing....not just on expensive models...(my honda pilot has them)

Wow! That's a cool idea...I hadn't heard about them yet. I guess I'm not surprised though with all the gadgets and gizmos cars have nowadays!

Honda Pilots are nice...Now you won't have to worry about rolling anyone's head up in the window.  ;D

Im sure its to protect kids...and clutzy adults too. LOL! My other car lets you roll down the windows with the keyfob while youre walking toward the car...which is great on hot days...you can hit that button and let it cool off  alittle before you get in.

I dont drive it very often...its bad on gas and not as fun to drive as the car is...but for an SUV its not bad.
Sadly....I bet people were injured or killed (your poor brother!!) to make that feature happen

kerrybeth

Cool feature.
Kids always seem to get into mischief in the car. One time I bloodied my brother's nose and my mom had to pull over and wrap her pantyhose around his head. We were out in the middle of nowhere and she couldn't find anything else.

He had it coming. That boy knocked most of my teeth out when we were kids!

that reminds me of a story.
When I was in college, I was lcoming back into town from a weekend home (with a trunk full of clean laundry, thanks to mom) when a kid on a BIKE smacked into the back of my car. long story short, he left the scene with his bloody face wrapped in a pair of my boxers...

You know, I just got my fingers rolled up in the window last night. It hurt like hell. They still feel funky. I have no feeling in the tip of one. Grrr.
