Max is my newest kitten. The past few days he's been struggling to survive. I found him out in the cat barn. I didn't even know he existed. The other night, I went out to feed them, and this little scrawny kitten, (that looked like a skeleton with hair) came crawling out. He looked frightful. He was skinny, and he had a vacant look in his eyes, and he was wheezing, and coughing. I couldn't believe how bad he looked.  :spooked: So, I scooped him up ,and ran in the house, and started him on antibiotics. To say he was in grave condition would be an understatement. I didn't figure he'd make it through the night. He did!!! That morning (it would've been last Wednesday)he was breathing his dying breaths, so I took him to the vet's office, and dropped him off, and went to work. There was really NO hope at all for him.  :no: When I got off work, I stopped by to (assumingly) pick up his body. My friend Kathy says to me "he's still alive, but it was grave. The vet thought I ought to leave him there for the night". So I did. I called over the next morning (Valentines Day),and they said he's eating and doing a lot better. Which REALLY made my day.  :biggrin: I went to work, and Kathy called me at 1:30 PM, and says "Max is well enough to go home tonight."  :sofa: So, I stopped and picked him up, and he has been doing very well. He had a checkup this morning, and got another antibiotic shot, and some liquid antibiotics for at home. The other cats are NOT receptive to him at all. He follows them around, because he wants to cuddle. It's heartbreaking to watch the little fart keep being rejected. Animals are funny like that. I don't think in all of the time I've had cats, they've ever been this cruel. I don't know if it's his emaciated figure, or his eyes. His eyes when he looks at you, looks like he's looking  through you.I must admit it is kind of creepy, but the vet thinks he'll grow out of it. Anyway... I've got my hands full again. I'll put updates on his recovery on this thread.

Hope the little guy makes it and the other cats learn to accept him.

He's doing pretty good tonight. I'm not sure if the other cats are going to accept him or not. They are acting real strange about him. I'm not sure what's up with that? I do know they are very jealous of him. Dudley, seems to be taking it the worst out of all of them. He likes to think he's the only cat in Mommy's life LOL!!!

I'm doin' my best for him. He sure has made a comeback. When I first found him, he was soooo weak, his  hips would go sideways when he walked, it was pathetic.  :'( He was sooo weak he couldn't even chew, and swallow his food. He's quite a little guy, I just wish the others would accept him. The first time he saw Pugsly, he fell in love with him.  :smitten: Usually, the first time a kitten sees Pugsly it freaks out, and goes absolutely apesh*t LOL!!! Their hair stands on end, claws come out, and hissing, and snarling commences. It is quite a sight, and we always crack up over it.  :rotfl:

Wow !!!!  :biggrin:  We thought Max would go well with Maddie. They look like twins. My friend Kathy helped me pick out a name for him.  :yes:

He's doin' great today!!! He's been running around ,and playing like a madman. I think he has gained a little bit of weight. The way he eats it's a wonder he hasn't gained a pound. He just went flying by, and it appears that he ,and Maddie are playing!!!!  :sofa: Thank God, I was starting to worry, that he might not ever fit in. Whew...

He has officially moved into the "brat"category. Last night he and Maddie kept running through the house, while Mommy wastrying to sleep. :rolleyes: Mommy got pissed, and captured Maddie, and put her in the bathroom. Mommy then proceeded to chase Max around trying to catch him to join her. I grabbed him by the tail because 1) I was pissed
             2) it was dark
            3) I didn't have my specs on
              4) I was half asleep
anywho... I had him by the tail, and he was spinning wildly in the air. He was all claws and teeth. He didn't bite me, but he gashed the middle finger on my left hand.   see....    :finger01: man, did that hurt. I never did catch the little turd. This morning he,and Maddie were very lovey dovey towards Mommy LOL!!!  :yes:
