your comment, IMO, is wrong.

Thank goodness we live in a country where you are free to express your opinion, no matter how wrong it may be!

I'm sorry I guess I should have said I disagree with your opinion which is actuallly what I meant.  It just seems to me that most musicians have the opinion that they know more and can appreciate music better than someone who isn't a musician or isn't trained in music and that rubs me the wrong way.  Kind of musician snobbery is what I call it.

I have to agree with, me! (Don't pass out me  )

I have absolutely NO musical talent...whatsoever, but I believe I appreciate the difference between music as an art form and music which is created for the public Dan described.

I can close my eyes and visualize the music and the notes take me places.

Oh...but you DO have a talent. You just expressed it!

I also agree with me.  There are studio musicians on some high-level work from artists.  They are all TECHNICALLY correct in their presentation of the music, but couldn't tell you anything about what the music really is, as they have no real APPRECIATION of it.

So...anyone watching Season 9?!?

Who, if anyone, has caught your attention?

Locutus

You know, I watch this from time to time almost every year, especially when it comes down to the wire and the final 12 or so are left.  I have to say that far and away, I think this year's talent has got to be the worst in years, if not since the show's inception.  Absolute crap.

You know, Loc, I've been a pretty devoted follower since the 2nd season...and I agree with you 99%. This season has about 1% of the talent in comparison to previous years.

Bowersox is getting my vote at this point because she clearly has raw talent, but I'm not completely convinced that she has the star power to be an "American Idol".

it is early, I think many of these kids will develop as the weeks pass by...and by the time the finals get here, there will be an obvious American Idol....that is the fun for me to watch is ..... watching these kids be groomed and developed into tomorrows star...

many of the AI kids from the past are doing very well in the music industry...I enjoy following some of these kids, even though I may not be a fan of their 'style' of music...

Okay, so I've gotta comment on this...even though the 'talent' doesn't appear to be comparable to former years, the addition of Ellen has been a definite improvement over Paula Abdul. Not that I watch the show for the "reality tv" aspect or drama of it all, but Ellen cracks some pretty good jokes & one-liners.

Someone that did well this past week & stood out to me as one to watch is Aaron Kelly (and he's from PA!). I think they are slightly over-emphasizing Siobhan Magnus. She has a good voice, but I'm curious if they're trying to replicate Adam Lambert from last season?

My take: AMEX Adle reflects the popular choice of most americans and most americans have the taste of lemmings.  Pop music charts reflect that (usually based on record sales to 13yr old little girls) and AMEX Adle is no different, or  perhaps even worse.

Crystal Bowersox & Casey James have the most natural talent this season.

If it's popularity, then Michael Lynch/Tim Urban will continue to stick around.

Andrew Garcia or Katie Stevens will be the next 2 to go home, IMO.

Not too sure what the bag pipes were all about, but Lee Dewyze has a very current voice.

I think that is pretty accurate analysis....
