I wasn't much of a candy eater as a kid -- Halloween was really the only time I ate it in mass quantities.

I did love gum, though and we used to buy the Big Buddy gum that was shaped like a ruler and about as long.

Not candy but does anyone remember cheese kisses?  I loved those!
No, what were they?

When I was a kid, there was this snack, that was made of the same stuff as corn chips are, but it was a spiral shape. I think they were called Corkers? Does anybody remember those? They were gruuuub!!!  :drool1:

Okay, so I'm busted. That's the closest to smoking I ever came. There were two kinds of candy cigarettes. There was one kind that was a stick of gum wrapped in paper and if you blew on it, the "smoke" would come out the end. It was really powered sugar (I think). The other was this minty kinda stick shaped like a cigarette, those I wasn't fond of because they tasted like dried up toothpaste to me. ;D

I had forgotten about the ones that the smoke blew out of.  I really didn't care for those, I liked the mint ones.

They've got those old fashioned candy sticks, and those are the bomb!!! My favorite flavor is Butter Rum.  :drool1: They sell a lot of those nostalgic candies at the orchards in his area. I worked at an orchard, and they had a lot of candy ,I had never heard of before. There was a hard candy called Whorehound" (sic), that I had never heard of, but I'm told it was very popular way back when.
