The Troll

This pretty much puts all of the bullshit to rest.

This is really good EX.  I haven't seen this one but it is one of the many I researched in my path to Atheism.  Came from a overly religious mother.  It took me a long time to say out loud that I was a Atheist.

By being brought up as a Christian I was afraid to utter this word, because if I said it and if there was a God.  He would smite me.  Well, I said it and I'm still here.

I will say I am an Atheist, I don't believe there is a God.  I don't believe there is a Devil.  I do believe we are Star Dust and we will return to the Universe from whince we came and we will become a part of the endless and timeless place we call SPACE.

Is there anyone else that will say that they are an Atheist.  Or are you still afraid.  Let there be Peace in the Universe.

The Troll

  Where is the Christian's God.

The Crystal Cathedral is bankrupt.  Rev. Robert H. Schuller who started a drive inn church started this glass green house church, after bilking million of dollars out of his sheeple flock.

If the Christian God is all powerful, why don't he save this large over priced piece of GLASS.

I am a Christian, and extremely confident and content with my decision to be one.  We all have to make these decisions and live with them.
Troll, I have never, ever tried to shove my beliefs down no one, and I never will.
I have "faith"....based upon my understanding of the Bible and what I was taught.  I have "faith" based upon personal experiences that I have gone through.  I have "faith" not just blindly, but because of what I accept as truths.
Not sure why I am even posting this, because I'm quite certain it will only lead to some ridicule, but, I just want to say that I do not think God Sucks.......

Troll, I just read you last response....can't answer your question as to why God didn't save a piece of glass.  I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.....I have no love or loss of any love with Schuller...he may be a Christian or he may be a big crook.........I really don't follow guys like him, nor do I care what he has to say or offer.  If people want to give him money, it is between him and the people.  If he is screwing them....I think he will have a lot of explaining to do one of these days.....but, he in not any worse than what our government does to us.
I am only concerned with my family and my close friends.......and what is best for them.

Because Jesus taught selfishness?

(I know better than to even try)

That statement CLEARLY tells me YOU have NO understanding about Jesus or Christianity.

Yeah, that Schuller story is pretty unbelievable.

I used to consider myself a Christian but people like you made me take a long, hard look at what that really meant and I decided it was all hypocritical bullshit.

And it's people like you who give atheists a bad rap. You are going to end up one of those bitter old men that no one wants anything to do with if you're the same offline as you are online. You really need an attitude adjustment.....bad.

I used to be in that group as well.  However, it wasn't so much the people that did it for me, it was the logical thought that came from a robust education, and not being too fearful to question what I had been led to believe from birth.  That's what most people don't get about atheists.  Most of us have been down that road, so we understand completely what they're talking about.   '

This kind of sums up an educated view of the bible and religion:

Coming from someone with as much experience as you obviously have with being old and bitter, I'll take that under advisement!
