If god exist, he sure is doing a bad job.  Any farmer in the world takes better care of his live stock than god is taking care of his flock.

I have never seen a prayer answered,   But I have seen a lot of people plead, bow, cry and ask him for something and their prayers do not work.  I have seen people I thought really deserved it.

I do not believe in miracles.  Never seen any parts of the body that were lost renewed.  Should be an easy job for God to replace an eye, lost arm, leg for a fact no one has seen it done, since he was to have  walked on the earth since 1,975 year ago  I have not seen any person survive a terminal disease except with good medical care and medicine.   I work out in a rehab center and I see these poor children who are brain damaged, crippled and with twisted limbs and I would ask the question, if I believed is, WHY!

Why would God put the snake in the garden of Eden with a couple who knew nothing.  Then cast them out of the garden of Eden with a sin upon them and all of their children and all of their children and and all of their children through all time.  Then he had himself killed to pay for for all of those sinners, who would not have been sinners if he had not made them sin.  Don't make sense

What I would like for the believers to do is, go to YouTube and type in George Carlin and his feeling of religion and god.  He has the best answers to what is god is better than any way  I can explain it.  The Troll.

George pretty much summed it all up as; a coin toss.  That is all prayer is.  Random luck.  Penn Jillette summed the miracles up; there are almost 300 million Americans and that creates the probability of a million-to-one oddities turning up about 300 times a day.  Miracles?  Nope.  Random shit?  Yes.

Dan Foster, I like your brain, it isn't dead like the old fowl, the hawk. and little old grandma "ME"  I came from a mother, who with her churchliness drove me and my sisters out.

The Anderson Library  have a sound recording, Cd's, of  The  God Delusion by Dawkins,  I just finished while working out.  It is really good.  I think I have someone who thinks a little like me,  not like "ME".  If you get my drift.

Dawkins is a great choice.  He is especially well suited to debunk the creationists, and their pseudosciences, with scientific facts.

Henry, thanks for the baby Robin remark.  After reading your shit in all of these topics.  If I really needed help, to stand  behind my back and ward off evil doers.  To share a foxhole with, I would choose Dan Foster, because his mind isn't clouded with religious hatred.

You know, back in the old days, the Knights would face his enemies with the shield and sword in front of him and do battle.  But dealing with you and and your ilk.  You must hold the shield over your ass and keeping your sword in from of yourself.  Because you guys are sure ass biters.  Enough said.  That's my ruling and and that's that.

What I would like all you non-believers to do is to not worry about the believers.  You aren't going to change anything by being hateful towards their choice of faith.
Looks like I've come full circle.

The Troll

Pariann and Ms Eggo.
My pretty high maintenance women, just kidding, and I want you to stay that way.  Why do I hate the far right Christan taliban religious leaders.  Well, there was two time in my live that I thought I was going to die.  After these two times I found, I am not afraid to die.  I really can't believe it myself.  I have thought about it many time.  I am not afraid of dying and there very few things that scare me.

But I will tell you one thing, I am scared to death of these far right wing, teabagging, taliban Christan leader.  I want you to goggle in, "far right religious leaders plans for America"  Look what Terry Randall, James Dodson, Pat Robertson, Tony Perkins and many, many more of the religious nuts have planed for us men and oh my god (small g, just a term.) the plans for you women.  I feel they are as powerful as god's most powerful angel the devil.  I don't believe all of this religious history, but some do.

First, they want to bring us back the Dark Ages, the Inquisitions, the Puritan way of life where the uses the stakes for burning witches and the dunking stool for witches, which were all women.  Not many men were killed.  They want to go back the to the Christian marriage were you belong to the man and he controlls everything you do.  More or less like a cow, you cook the food and bear the children and if he want more women he can have them.  Does that sound like any man you know.

They will want to take your makeup from you.  Your jewelry, your slacks and blue jeans and put you back into long dresses.  They will want to take you vote away from you.   Most of all they want to take your right to do with your body what you want.  Get raped, you will be required to have that baby and if you get an abortion, Terry Randell, Quote:  I will see to that, that woman and that abortion doctor put to death.  So help me God.

These crazy religious zealots got Prohibition and you see what that got us.  But what really gets me, these same people, do not want to pay taxes.  But, they will give the church 10% of their gross income.  Some new churches want 20% of your gross, for nothing, but maybe your peace of mind.  Only in America!  They are like a camel trying to get into you tent.  First the nose, then the whole head, then the body, tearing up you tent, getting scared and running off your tent into the night, leaving you with nothing.  I hope, I made you perfectly clear how it feel about these nuts.

Hey, if they would keep their personal relationship with their deity to themselves, and not try to legislate their beliefs and customs into law, thereby forcing them upon each one of us, I would have no problem leaving them alone. But there isn't a chance of that ever happening. It's all about the power and greed for them. . .

Yup!  I think that point has been made more than a few times around here too.

Try attacking those individuals then.  The KNOWN zealots that hide behind Christianity while they attempt to wrest or wield the power.

Your every day Christian, such as is posting on this forum aren't to blame for those individuals.  What I keep seeing on the forum are the Christian Joe's being attacked for their belief.  Let them believe what they want.  You ALL know that the public isn't voting these people into office.  It's been shown more than once that who the politicians want in office is who makes it...not the voting atheists and Christians.

So again I would like to see all the non-believers leaving the believers alone, and go after the real problem.  Fraudulent Christians.

Someone should read Under the Dome by Stephen King.  He has a local town politician (character) that fits the bill perfectly.  Christian by day, money hungry power wielding criminal by every other hour.   King has the situation nailed down perfectly, the only thing missing is that the politician doesn't appear to be a closet gay as well.

Looks like I've come full circle.

The Troll

Pariann, I really think you got me all wrong.  Believe it when I say this.  I don't have a problem with a person who has a good faith and practice it a good way and keep to theirselves about it.  I have several good Chistians friends, THEY ARE GOOD PEOPLE.  But we don't talk about the Teabag Party or the Fox News and very little about the Republican Party and all of them are for a single payer health plan and with I do agree.

My problem is when these same people start to believing in Terry Randells and people like him.  Right now,  in the polls, 33% of the voters are Republican voters and have all of  these far right wing Christain in it.  It takes only takes 51% of the vote to win.  In a three party race, the Democrats, the Republicans and the Teabag party race it takes only 34% to win. With Rupert Murdoch and his Fox News Network, O'Reilly, Hannity, and now Glen Beck, with the help of Dick Armey started the Teabag Party.  Just think all Rupert and Dick needs is 34% of the vote to shove their agenda down our throats and I don't think you want to loose your woman's rights.  Ms. Pariann it all about numbers and power.  Like I have said in the past, I won't kneel and kiss their rings.  It use to be when you meet the Pope, you kneeled and kissed his ring, I don't know about now.

Ms. Pariann you don't have to worry about the unbelievers and atheist, we really don't care what gods the religious worship. Just leave us and keep the believer's laws out of our business.

My only worry with the believers is their influence on the gov't, or infiltration, thereof.  They can believe all they want, stand around and sway with their eyes closed, hands extended to heaven and pray like a son-of-a-bitch all day long, for all I care; as that is absolutely nothing but a waste of their time.  It's when they want the gov't to do the same is where I draw the line.  Oh yeah, as an equal opportunity atheist, they can pray five times a day with their face in someone else's ass on the carpet roll in front of them; again, a waste of their time, not mine.

We don't "bother" with religious people, but we are also not going to give them a pass on their bullshit.  Any challenge to that is seen as "hateful" and a real tragedy of their delusional world view, but again, their problem not mine.
