EX, I suspect it is for the same reason you  as a child asked you parents for something, but you know the answer will be 'no'.   I'm also curious how do you know God is a He?

I agree.  I use "he" in referring to "him" as it is the word of god that tells us that "he" is the "heavenly father", (most Americans assume the position in a good old judaeo-christian tradition) and they KNOW their god, the father, is the one that is saying no to their childish wishes and fears (except catholics; they have a "heavenly mommy", too).  What delusion do you adhere to that would have you question "his" gender?

  Huh?
Yep, that's my point.  You accused me of copping out.  On what?  LO replied to my post exactly in the manner I expected her too, because SHE understood what I was saying. You didn't. If you keep up with everything that LO posts, you would have understood what I meant by 'banter'.
Looks like I've come full circle.

Oh lighten up. Santi has been keeping up with everything I say for years, and he understands me better than most.  Keep in mind that tone of voice doesn't translate into print, and be a little less quick to take offense. All of you.

P.S. Just FYI, on occasion, my group has been known as "Santi's gang."

I guess I just don't appreciate being told I'm copping out when I'm kidding around.
Looks like I've come full circle.

I'm sorry to have hurt your feelings.  True I have not read all 78 pages of this thread.  It is also true that my words were ...' that sounds like a cop out to me.'  So I gave my impression without making  a direct accusation.  I'm kinda new here and don't want to make enemies YET!

Wow! First I'm not paying attention and now I'm delusional. I better quit while I've still got my head. But  I guess my answer to your question is curiousity.  I don't think of God in terms of gender just as I don't think angels are by necessity female.  I don't recall ever seeing angels depicted in Christmas programs as being of the male gender.

hey Santi. I don't play well with others either (Im told) so I don't post here very much. But man its good to see the names i know from time to time. :smitten:

Oh you haven't made an enemy.  I just couldn't believe that you took me seriously.

Dan is like that with everyone.  Don't mind him.  I have seen male angels in the church Christmas program where my girls go to church.  I've even seen shepherd's that were girls!!

Hey jimdy, long time; no see.   I don't remember you as having problems gittin' along.  Well, maybe a couple that most people tried to ignore.  It seems to me it's never a good idea to get into a religious discussion. Nobody ever changes anyone's mind.

Pariann, I know there are male angels.  I have one that has saved me from many mistakes, even tragedy.  He appears in my house frequently as just a fleeting moving, shadow.

If you believe in angels, then you ARE delusional.  Sorry.

Process of elimination.  Who but a friend would appear ghostlike at my house?

Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.
