Okay, folks! Who out there is a fan? Will you be watching this season of American Idol...or are you burned out?!?

For those watching, let's compare notes here...who do you think is going to take it all the way?!?

It's early...any thoughts on last night's show?!?

H4TK

I watch it. Last nights show wasn't as good as I had expected it to be. I love the audition shows, they are sometimes better than the actual competition. Tonights show looks like it might be funnier. I did enjoy the one guy, the one who kept trying to sing every song like Chris Daughtry, he just didn't "get it". LOL

Sunny

I completely agree, H4TK! I have been a devoted show watcher since the second season (somehow missed the first one)...but halfway through last night's show, I thought to myself, "this is getting a bit redundant". Simon Cowell can be so brutal!

That was pretty funny when the Chris Daughtry-wanna-be didn't 'get it'!!! And the girl who was the "Number One fan"! She kept telling the judges about her degree in voice & 10 years of lessons.

I thought there were a few that seemed promising last night...the one from Miami (sang Blondie & Shakira)....the one who sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"....and the one who talked about being a "crack baby". :spooked:

I like the ones who have no talent, but are up there, just a-beltin' that song out at the top of their lungs, just the same.

Fun to watch the ones who get p.o.'d and start calling the judges names.

Don't like to see so much footage of the ones who have deluded themselves into believing they have so much talent, and they are just totally shattered and their dreams are destroyed.
Ignorance and fanaticism are ravenous. They require constant feeding.

Sunny

Yep. It certainly takes a lot of courage & confidence to get up there.

Kudos to the good, the bad, & the not so pretty.

BEG

I like the 16 year old girl who was born a 'crack baby'. She belted it out. I'm keeping my eye on her.
Life is a test,
Life is a trust.

Sunny

 Gotta love those who truly have 'natural' talent...I bet you're right!

I wish I could see it. I cannot seem to get Fox at all. We gave up on cable a couple months ago.

I watch the tryouts to laugh at the crappy singers...
then I usually follow online whats going on til close to the end. Seattle tonight is supposed to be hysterical.

1 and 2 then I was done. Haven't watched it since.

Simon brutal and Paula drunk...they are funny! ;D

The one who sang the Blondie/Shakira songs, I don't think she will go far, her accent is too strong...kinda reminds me of the "Chris" guy.
The girl who sang "Somewhere over the Rainbow", I liked her, she had a good voice and could sing. I also liked the "crack baby" girl. I think a few were sent thru because they were "better" than what had been there, but they weren't really good.

Tonights show...OMG...that one lady with her mom (Meisha)...she was a riot.I have to say, Seatle has some strange people...lol.  I didn't see the whole show...for some reason, FOX had a basketball game one, I missed about an hour of it.

Sunny

That stinks, H4TK! It was a very interesting show last night. So, you didn't get to see the last audition of the night?!? That would've been "Red"...he was almost in the same category as "Meisha".

Still, I have to give these people credit. Although, I wonder how many of them truly believe they have talent vs. the ones who 'ham it up' for the camera?

My favorite part of the auditions is when they have everyone sing the same song & they mix them all together.

Hilarious!

Okay ANYONE out there have a recommendation for a good antenna to buy so I can pick up Fox?????? Hubby says that we'll probably end up ordering cable again, but after we move.

Sunny

No help with that, Daisy...but there are always other options...a) go to a friend's house on AI nights; b) go to Sunny's house on AI nights ; c) see if there are "highlights" on the American Idol website.

~Daisy~

Tempting...LOL That's a long drive for AI though!
