LOL! I agree...Melinda's good, but not "original" IMO. Same with Lakisha & Jordin...their style isn't all that different from Fantasia.

Gina is oiginal -- and someone that they could cultivate -- but, I'm not sure she'll get the "popularity" vote she'll need...

And yes, Henry...her demeanor doesn't seem as genuine now...*psst* I think it's her head...

Henry Hawk

 ;D

hey, I'm with you on Gina too...and you, know, I'm gonna make a wager that that Haily chick, who messed up her lines last week, will be the underdog and last a few more weeks....she, got a big boost from Simon, and that could give her a big chance to shine....

That's a good point! Hailey reminds me a little of Katherine McPhee from last season...

Sunny

Okay, maybe not...don't see her going too much longer on the show. :(  Sanjaya -- eek, gads.

Tonight's pick(s) for me:

Jordin Sparks * Blake Lewis

hands down...the best 2 performances of the night, IMO.

I'll go with that... :)

Yep, those 2 really did a good job tonight. I really enjoyed Blakes performance.

Hawk, I think you hit the nail on the head about Melinda and her "humble" act. It's beginning to remind me of Kelly Pickler's "dumb country girl' antics last season. I remember hearing something about Melinda having her 2 friends with her because they picked all her clothes and helped with her makeup...can you imagine what she would have if she "made it".

I really hope Sanjaya goes tomorrow night. If not, he will be in top 10 and they will be the ones touring. I don't think he deserves to go that far. I laughed when Simon thought the little girl was crying because she didn't like Sanjaya.

Sunny

I agree...if Sanjaya doesn't go home tonight then something is gravely wrong...his performance was deplorable last night.

Phil didn't do very well though...and neither did Haley -- should be one of them going.

Sunny

Welp...he's still there. *sigh* And Stephanie is gone. Looks like someone is trying to get rid of Simon.

I noticed that tonight too. It seems her body is missing something, hmmm, maybe a neck? I dunno, she just seems kinda strange.

Sanjayas hair tonight? <shaking head>

Sunny

Grrrr...I don't even know if I can talk about the show this week.

 :'( :-\

This is almost as bad as when Chris Daughtry was voted off. I think Chris D. was voted off because the fans got comfortable thinking he would win, but in the case of Sanjaya, it's getting kinda ridiculous. I think people are voting for Sanjaya just to see how long he lasts and to see if Simon will quit and that is undermining the show. Chris Sligh did not deserve to go, he might not have won, but he deserved a chance to stay longer.

Sunny

I agree with just about everything, H4TK...Chris Sligh was one of my favorites, but in all fairness, he did not "bring it" this week.  ;D As for Chris Daughtry, I kinda wonder if America figured he would "make it" with our without American Idol? Heck, he's already sold far more records than Taylor Hicks. *sigh* But, it could've been what you said, too...America just got comfortable with his popularity & it backfired.

And the whole Sanjaya thing is just...sickening. :'(

Oh, and it is definitely a *neck* thing with Melinda...although, her face is quite large, too...I'm thinking it's some type of Dwarfism(?).

H4TK

You may be right about the dwarfism. I noticed that when she *hugged* herself last week, she looked a bit out of whack. She can sing though.

Chris D. has made good for himself. My son went to see him last week in Greensboro. He gave a free outdoor concert. Yesterday, the same son was standing in line to buy tickets to see him perform at a club in Winston-Salem. He was calling his 12 year old sister to let her hear him sing. :)

So much publicity has been centered around Sanjaya--- the poor kid probably thinks he can sing, not realizing he is being made fun of. Can you imagine how big his head is this week, knowing he wasn't even in bottom 3?

Sunny

I actually fell asleep halfway through the show last night...pretty much giving up on this season. There isn't anyone in particular that "tickles my fancy".

If I HAD to pick, the only contestant that I'd like to see take the title is Blake Lewis. If he goes home in the next few weeks, I'm done watching the show for the season.

Drastic? Maybe a bit. I'm just bored with it all. ;)

Your thoughts?
