For the same reason you would need to mention a race or heratige when involving a crime, to identify where the problem lies. People are cutting off other people's heads, raping women, and mistreating their wives and daughters just doesn't quite cut it. They are doing these things and they are radical Muslim's and that's a fact.

I would say a black person and leave it at that. You wouldn't know whether the person is a Muslim or not. You can give the race without saying they are Muslim or this or that. I would do that if it was a white, Hispanic or Asian. You are just assuming that they are a Muslim with not one ounce of proof.
