How did a foreign power attempt to intervene in the election in 2008?

Fuck, he don't know.     He's talking out of his ass as usual.     If he had a brain, it would be the size of a walnut and just as hard.  :smash:  :haha:  Ole Sphincter Bird Henry.   :flap:

And yes, given Hamilton's own words, this statement still holds:

That article is myopic Hank.

He's describing one of the purposes of the Electoral College while flat out lying about the other.  The other purpose, as intended by the founders, is exactly what I described to you.  The founders, as Hamilton duly stated, intended the electoral college to be a deliberative body in the manner that I described in my post.  They had a clear fear that a charismatic tyrant could manipulate public opinion and come into power.   Alexander Hamilton described these concerns in the Federalist Papers.

Do you believe the guy who wrote the above, or the words of Alexander Hamilton himself?

You should take the time to do some reading outside of your comfort zone.  You may learn something someday.

Listen and quit being pompous...I have read plenty and fully understand.  Hamilton WANTED electors in place to assure a quality POTUS was elected.......and that is exactly what happened.  The electors CAST their electoral votes for Trump...with 304 votes...you just didn't get your way so you are dreaming up errors and mishaps and whatever...

Our forefathers did NOT want a majority MOB rule...the electoral college works.......it keeps a mob rule majority like California from deciding who wins the election.....this was smaller states have a voice.....if California was NOT included, Trump wins the popular vote by over a million.

We are the UNITED STATES of AMERICA.......NOT Amerika.

How did they attempt to intervene in the election in 2016? They didn't...and there is NO proof that they did.

Do you think the electoral college functions today in the same manner as it was intended by the founders?  That being a deliberative body?  I certainly don't think that it is.

BTW, nothing that I've stated here should be taken as my advocating for the abolishment of the electoral college.

To some degree, YES!  It still serves to give each state a voice in the presidential election...which was a major function by the founders...

How about as a deliberative body, if it were necessary?

Why do libs have the idea that only they are well educated and smarter than anyone else?

Using this forum as a microcosm of society in general absolutely illustrates that fact.

The founders absolutely did fear a tyrant.  That's stated pretty clearly by Hamilton's own words.  Why would that be playing with fire?

You have no clue what I've accomplished. I have no desire for the "high life" and am perfectly content with my low stress comfortable life. Fancy does not impress me in the least nor does money, that is not what life is all about.
