Just listened to a program on C-Span about the economy.     And the professors said, profit of the United States, 53% of the money went to the 1% of the population.  The billionaires and millionaires, Trump being one of them.  Only 15% went to the rest of us.   :@#%&: :dam:

Folks, we cannot let this to continue.  :trustme:  But we have a class of greedy, stupid people who vote against their own living standards.  WTF   :dizzy2: :wall:  :pink: :pink: :pink:

Hey Chumpie, just why didn't your Republican controlled House of Representives help him do it.     Instead of cutting him off at the knees every time he tried to improve America.

Bullsh!t! Bush didn't whine when the democrats railroaded him, nor did Reagan.....Maybe if Obama would have tried to play nice from the beginning he could have been more successful........he told the republicans when he first took office, they could come along for the ride, but to stay out of the way....he told his democrat congress if the republicans bring a knife to the fight for them to bring a gun!
He failed at leadership! BIG LEAGUE!

Regarding President Obama:

Just maybe I'll concede that Obama was/is too idealistic. Maybe he believed that because he won the presidency, things, people had changed. But, he failed to understand what pure greed, pure evil can do. And that hungry people, educated or not, people without jobs, or with jobs that don't pay enough, will compromise their principles: like, for instance, supporting, voting for someone like Donald Trump  :spooked: :icon_evil:

I remember my first lesson in what I think of as reality: Charles Smith, a Bluefield lawyer, and I were talking about ?what, when I made the statement that stealing is wrong, that there is no excuse. Period. He looked at me for a minute or two and then said: "Are you sure? If you had no money, no job, no way to buy food for your little boy, would you steal to feed him?"

The economy is doing great!
Then why is it we still have a labor participation rate around 63 percent, with slightly more than 94.5 million Americans out of the work force....worst since WWII.

If it is so great, why is it we are in a decline of real household family income. It has went from $57,000 in 2007 to $53,700 in 2014.....and that home ownership rate has declined to a near 48-year low.

Or that we have more Americans on food stamps since he took office?  It has increased from 26.5 million in 2007 to 44.5 million in 2016.

If it is so great, then why has there not been a single year under Obama in which the annual growth rate has been at three percent....this is unprecedented for any or our recent presidents.

Sure, the stock market is doing well, but ask the average hard working blue collar working American if they give a flip about the stock market.....

A portion of the figure you quote are baby boomers that are either on the cusp of retirement or retired early. Those individuals are subjected to rampant ageism in this country and so cannot obtain employment paying more than minimum wage due to it. Even then they are competing with younger individuals for these same bottom of the scale positions and frequently lose out to them.

The balance of the figure are individuals that lost their positions due to the stampede of manufacturing companies from this country that was enabled by foreign trade agreements of which the sitting POTUS had zero participation in.

Don't blame the president for this. The above are the impacts upon this nation brought on by congressional pandering to corporate Amerika and it's wealthy ownership, as well as foreign trade agreements that enabled manufacturing companies to leave this country and further enhance their burgeoning coffers by paying dirt cheap labor rates in other countries. All the while they import their foreign manufactured goods back into this country with impunity.

And if you think the Raging Cheeto is going to be able to change that then you are agin, underestimating the impact (negative) our elected representation in congress has upon the sharp decline in quality of life and the GDP of this nation. They will fight him tooth and nail just as they did President Obama, only the Raging Cheeto will cave in order to avoid the negative press. And things in this nation will get even worse exponentially.

Time will tell, won't it.

They had better start giving a flip about the stock market because that is the only retirement resource left to the average worker in this country anymore. Congress enabled corporate Amerika to weasel out of pension plans and eliminate them altogether, so now we are left at the mercy of the stock markets in order to have an ice cube's chance in Hades of being able to retire and eat anything besides Alpo.

Corporate Amerika has this nation by the short hairs and the average citizen of this nation just proved they haven't got the slightest idea about it by electing an individual from it's clubhouse POTUS. And now he is filling his cabinet with nothing but more of the same.

Time will tell alright, but it will not be a pleasant story. . .

I 1000% disagree.....and time, will indeed tell us the truth.  I think we are on the cusps of the best thing to happen in a long time in this country....we are already seeing hints of consumer confidence on the rise and economic optimism is reflecting by the Stock Market....because of TRUMP.

I'm finding it very hard to understand your optimism; especially if one were to stipulate to all of the current conditions within your prior post.

With 94.5 million people out of the workforce how can they afford to be consumers of anything much more than groceries?

Same with the depressed income levels you speak of; how can they afford much more than the roof over their heads, transportation/commuting costs, and food?

Same for those 44.5 million on food stamps?

Your optimism is misplaced; especially if those things you were attempting to pile upon the sitting POTUS are true.
