Women and Hillary, Women Politicians, Bosses etc.

Some women are just bitches.

I could write a book but will for now just say I found out early in life, in Bluefield, WV, that I liked men bosses better than women.

I saw this topic in another part of the site and thought it would be a good topic to explore.

I've found that women in general don't like other women in superior positions - or a lot of times just other women in general.  They appear to be quite catty about it.

I was talking to one whose a friend of my wife and I and she came right out and said the she doesn't think a woman should be president - that it's a man's job.

That is not even the first time I've heard such from a woman, and to tell the truth, I admit I don't get it.

So I'd like to hear the thoughts from the women here.

I had 2 great women bosses but then had one who was a bitch. Do I think there will come a time that we will have a female President, probably but I don't see or want it anytime soon. I don't know that woman can deal with all the stresses that the President does and handle it. Think about it, foreign relations, military and other domestic issues. Hell, most women and myself included would probably have to binge on some form of chocolate to get through all that. I know it would take a great woman of extraordinary political savvy to become the President, so I guess time will tell.
Do I want Hillary to be President, no but then I don't want Trump either? I have never been a fan of some women in some power positions, it is nothing personal as I held a power position but some women like your friend said are catty and back stabbing bitches. I like Libby have gotten along better with men bosses. I found the men to be more sympathetic when I had a surgery and adopted our children then some women.

I have supported Hillary Clinton from Day 1. I think she, especially she, and women in general can be just as tough and intelligent and capable (except for physical strength) as men.

As for your comment (in bold above) I have found from personal experience that the opposite is often true. Women in superior positions resent and are perhaps afraid of women who are younger, or more attractive, or more intelligent, or sometimes just nicer to be around. Or all of the above. Beginning in high school, 11th and 12th grades in a new school, I was shunned by a group of mean girls.

One more example: in my first job while I was taking college classes and working part time in a hospital, the assistant to the boss complained about me to him -- he said she told him I was wasting too much typing paper. My job was to sit beside him and type while he dictated  x-ray  reports. Of course I made mistakes, which I later corrected before giving them to him to sign. But I said nothing in my defense. I just looked at him. But you know what? Within a week, she was moved to another job, and he, the doctor became like a surrogate father to me as my own father lay dying in the same hospital.

It depends on the woman, there are women who could handle the job better than any man but Hillary isn't that woman. I have worked under women who I had no problem with and women who had no business being in a management position and the same goes for men. It has a whole lot more to do with the person rather than the gender IMHO. As far as a woman president goes at this point in time there are some countries who think woman are to be seen and not heard let alone be in a position of power so that may present a problem.

Agree.  That's what I've always experienced.  My manager now and the one right before her are both wonderful to work for.  They expect hard work and appreciate it and give praise when it's done.  They also get down in the trenches when it's needed.  How many bosses do you know will mop up an overflowed toilet and the water that  traveled down the hallway?  (I work in a library and we have no custodial staff on-site, so whoever sees a mess gets to clean it up.)  I was working on it with another co-worker who told my boss what was going on.  She immediately came down and helped us. 

I think Clinton will make a good president.  She's proved she can handle herself, and handle herself well, under pressure.  She's intelligent and well-spoken.

You work in a library! I consider that an ideal job. Not too long ago I talked to somebody at a big county library close to my home about volunteering when my life slows down a little.

We love our volunteers.    We also have a volunteer Friends group that raises money for the library.  Our funding had been cut in the past and it has only been partially restored.  (That might change as our executive director went to the county commissioners to ask for an increase in the library tax.  Keeping our fingers crossed!)  The Friends hold two book sales a year and at each one raise over $10,000.  That buys us new carts, displays, chairs, etc.  These are usually items we don't really have money for in the budget. 

Support your library!   If you haven't been to yours lately, go visit.  It's a great place to see!

My first job was working for a life insurance company in their home office. I worked for a very nice lady and most of the people in the office were women. (This was 1965.) I don't remember any problems between the women I worked with as far as backstabbing, etc. I never had a problem when I worked at the hospital either. Of course, neither of those jobs were corporate ladder type, so that is a different kettle of fish. My sister-in-law hates to work with women though, she has a more traditional attitude than I do.
