Last night - General Tso's chicken (extra spicy) w/fried rice. Now I'm good on Chinese for about 3 months. ;D

Nothing yet today, but the coffee is a brewin. I have a whole wheat eggo (yes, I'm a cannibal :biggrin:) and some fresh strawberry preserves waiting, then the dog and I are headed for a hike. :yes:

Ham and cheese on rye w/mustard.  Doin' up some home made chicken soup for supper. 




Thanks Troll.  I appreciate the compliment very much.  :smile: I like to make most everything from scratch but will resort to cake mixes if need be.

  My grandmother Coate made everything from scratch too.  But for years she wouldn't try a box cake mix.  Until my mother talked her into trying one.  She could hardly get over it.  She said, why they taste as good as the ones from scratch.  And I still loved her cakes, she still made the icing from scratch.  I think that's a lot of the secret of baking a good cake, the icing.

I don't bake like I used to when the kids were home 'cause we don't eat many sweets like that.  I still sometimes make buckeyes and/or Mexican wedding cookies around Christmas though.  Well, the normal pumpkin pies and maybe a cherry pie or two and sometimes a cheesecake.   :smile:
