it doesn't surprise me that you've missed the fact about Troll. Nor does it surprise me that you're also missing the point. I don't think that I can explain this any more clearly to help you both understand. Forget her plans. Even if her plans were different the young man is stupid, dangerous and he has NO desire to change that.

Who in hell cares what she does.   She can go to college or do anything else she wants to.  The little bitch used him and abused him and broke his heart like you probably did to your EX.     The boy needs someone to talk to because he has had a blow to his esteem and manhood and she walks away like nothing has happened.  Women have done this to men ever since Adam and Eve.    She's the damn bitch who ate the apple and we all have suffered for that. :treehug:  :haha:

Antipathy towards college educated assholes by me is well earned and learned.  I have been around and worked for so many damn idiots, fools and air head with college degrees and I imagine you have too.   It is no wonder some of these companies lose money and go out of business by hiring only people with degrees instead of hiring by experience and talent included in the hiring of an employee.  Some of the worse engineers and I mean real dummy's I have ever worked for were Purdue engineering degree holders.  I sure don't how they ever got though college unless it was by cheating.

I quite sure you missed the point on the subject of should the mother continue talking to her broken hearted ex-boyfriend.  I talked to my EX's mother and father and we were friend for years and years while my EX's life turned to shit by her decision.   I do love :love3: that Karma.

Your "experience" within the subject in question here is likely more connected to the exception that proves the rule than any form of effective reaction toward young adults in the world today. You lack relevant experiences to allow you to make a call on this; your experiences from 70 years ago do not necessarily apply in the here and now.

I dare say, that if you had a daughter of the same age as the family in question here, today, and this were going on in her life, you'd be locked and loaded, waiting for him to set foot onto your property or to make a threat against her of your family. (You'd feel quite differently).

I've had the honor to raise 5 daughters of my own, and am currently doing what I can for 6 granddaughters ranging in age from 5 months to 18 years of age. So I am a bit more "connected" to the social tendencies and shortfalls of todays youth than you could hope to be.

Have you met the young man in question or are you just assuming he is dangerous just because he has no desire to go to college at the moment?  Even if he is 20 or 21 he may still not know exactly what direction he wants to go job wise and that does not make him stupid or dangerous.

Your antipathy for higher learning prevents you from getting the point. Let it go, Troll.
Quote from: me on December 25, 2014, 09:51:43 PM
He obviously didn't have an apathy for higher learning he just preferred to work with his hands and learn something he'd actually use rather than pay a ridiculous price to learn something he'd never use just to say he went to college.  Higher learning does not have to involve going to school/college especially if a person is not going to use it for a career.  For that you can go to the library, check out books on the subject, read them, and learn what it is you want to know.  Not everyone wants a cushy white collar job or a company management position a person needs college for and it's a good thing 'cause otherwise there would be no one to do the labor type jobs and those people with the "higher learning" would have to work on their own cars and open up their own clogged toilets.  Hum, guess that means they'd have to go to college to learn to do that too huh?  News flash, ya can't learn things like that in college it is trade school or OJT that gets you that knowledge.

This is gettin' truly scary that I'm not only agreeing with but sticking up for Troll.

Well gee whiz, give that man  medal.  I raised 3 daughters, helped raise 2 step-daughters, have 9 grand kids, 4 of which are within the age group this young man in question is, one a tad younger, two only 6 and 7, and two a tad older, 3 step grandsons, one around the same age and 2 coming into that age group.  Now, if you're going to count your 5 daughters as having you a bit more "connected" to that age group I'd say you're a tad bit behind me.  I am also around or have contact with a lot of their friends so, ya, I'd say I'm pretty "connected" with the age group in question.  Your mistake is wanting to group everyone of that age into the same category like everything else and you just can't do that.

Just where do you come up with that name Jack Wagon.  It sounds like a name used in the second grade in a Christian School by little boys.

I know how over sensitive you are to have all of that super duper education you say you have. I notice how you like to tell every one about it.  But I imagine with a small amount of on the job training you could do the job you are doing right now.  I'll bet it doesn't take a brain trust to do it.  You seem to do it alright, some how.  It also seems to me that with that  super duper education you have, you were unemployed for two years letting your wife carrying the load.

Nowhere have I said that all college educated people are fools, some aren't.  But you seem to forget that the congress of this country is run by 100% college educated men and women.  And you can see that education they have doesn't seem to be working.  I just can't see how going to college for 4 years give you the right to think that all good things come to you stuck up people.  And anyone with less an education doesn't get the good things too.  To me it's funny to be in a large group of college educated people and how they like telling everybody that will listen about all of the degrees they have.  It also tickles me how little the other people give a damn about it.  It puts me in mind of a New York horse show.  A show where horse's ass show their horse's asses to other horse's asses.

I do think that a college educated person should have more common sense and intelligence, than the people working under them and that sure is not true in all cases.  I wonder how the people working under you thinks about your super vision and super intelligence.  :haha:

I hope you don't break your arm patting yourself of the back on understanding  kids of today and how they will act.  The kids of today when it comes to electronics are smarter than their  parents.  With this kind of knowledge no one knows that they will do next, NOBODY!  You surely have seen the kids raised by Doctor Benjamin Spock teaching and books and the way your parents raised you.      And I say to you sir, GOOD DAY.  :salute:

The fact remains whether the guy chose to go to college or not, that he didn't have the same goals and aspirations as the girl. If the situation was reversed, it would be the same outcome. Young people today tend to get their hearts broke but also tend to get over them quicker.

No thanks. I've had my fill of them; especially the placebo type you are prone to distributing.

It would appear your logic is consistent though; same within your personal life as your political one.

Your mistake, and it has a strong potential to be a fatal one, is to assume the best until the worst arrives. Using that methodology is how we all get to read about families of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, + murdered by someone who "loves" them.

Perhaps you've missed the scourge of domestic violence that fills the news media?  :roll eyes:

What is the age you assumed for the subjects in this case? Just how are you so aware of their metal stability and maturity as to feel so strongly that a gentler course is the one that should be taken?

The fact is you don't have an acceptable answer for either, and like the Troll, you assume the best; a fatal decision for an estimated 1.3 million women annually according to the NCADV: http://www.ncadv.org/files/DomesticViolenceFactSheet(National).pdf

---> 1/3 of female homicide victims each year are killed by their intimate partners.

---> Historically, females are most often victimized by someone they knew. . .

The list goes on and on in support of the course of action I recommended.
