I guess what it all boils down to is the lumping all 18 to 22 yr olds into the same category and the fact that he was tagged as stupid for not wanting to go to college.  Not all people aspire to make big bucks so they can buy stuff and things but prefer to live a modest life and not have to deal with the stress of keeping up with the Jone's.  There is nothing wrong with her wanting more or him settling, at least at this point in his life, for just a job.  She probably doesn't love him anyway or she would accept him like he is and be the one with the career and higher education and allow him to be himself with just a job.  Yes, the mom probably should break it off with him but gently and kindly not suddenly.  Why is everything so negative and hateful with Liberals/dems?

I think each and every case is different. Kids grow up at different ages. It takes some kids well into their late twenties or even later to finally grow up, some kids know at an early age what they want and expect in this life.  It may take the sorrow of losing this girl to wake him want more in this life.  I think it takes all kinds to make this world turn.  It doesn't make this a bad kid by his lake of motivation, it takes painful events like this to make him evaluate his life.

No one is "lumping" anyone into the same category; except when it comes to the statistical analysis that anyone with a modicum of intelligence would come away from seeing the stark need to exercise extreme caution in such situations.

The rest of this post is nothing, if not full of personal assumptions without basis in fact. And it is exactly that type of thinking that leads to the nasty headlines surrounding multiple killings, murder-suicides, hostage situations, rapes, and a long list of fatal and non-fatal acts of domestic violence. And the reason they keep happening is those individuals who they happen to keep making assumptions very similar to those you and the Troll are making. Including their parents and loved ones.

I've had to deal with a number of irate and irrational young men beating on my door at the wee hours, heartbroken and pissed after the demise of their relationships with my daughters. I have seen first hand what they become; and while I have been there a few times myself in my younger years, I never did or even thought of doing such things myself. But they did. And had I not taken the steps I did, and made the situation perfectly clear to them, who is to say that my own family would not have been one of the very statistics I am quoting here?

You don't have to take my word for it, nor am I asking anyone to. I am saying that the statistics surrounding domestic violence, especially against women, fully validate the actions I endorsed herein to the situation presented. I am not making this up. . . And there are millions of women in this nation who would be among the first to support my position on this and to validate the statistics.
