I hear they're considering changing their name to Wahhabi Lobby.

If a fetus is a life then so is a cancer.
Ya know Ex, I never thought I'd hear such a stupid remark from you of all people.  Does cancer turn into a living breathing person?  I think not.

No, cancer turn into a cold dead person.     The human body committed suicide.

With no interference, more than 2/3 of all fertilized eggs fail to result in a live birth.

His remark requires thought. If you consider what a fetus is medically/scientifically, he's not wrong.

I really don't understand why conservatives are ao happy about this and why religion would deny a woman contraceptives IF they insist they're anti-choice when it comes to abortion. I can't imagine having such conflicting beliefs and being happy.

There are still 16 methods available to them including birth control pills.

Sandy, I think he is wrong. A cancer will never grow and be able to live outside of a host, a fetus will. That, IMO, makes the difference. I have already stated my views on abortion,so I won't get into that again. I think some people are missing the point HL is making. They don't think the four types of "contraception" they objected to are preventing conception, but are in fact abortions which they object to.

Most, in fact, will not.

I think you're missing the bigger point about the can of worms this opens up when other religions impose their views on their employees which is now sanctioned by the Supreme Court.

Then why do they invest in the selfsame companies that make these forms of contraception that they find objectionable to provide to their employees based on 'religious' grounds?

I think HL was being extremely reasonably and the SCOTUS actually used common sense, which has been missing from our law makers.

For the life of me, I cannot see ANYONE can object to what happened in this case.....it is clearly cut and dry.  Justice has prevailed.

To answer that question I would have to know how their investment plan works. If it is handled by a firm and HL doesn't pick the individual companies that their money is invested in then they may not have known which companies their plan owned stock in or what they produced. Our investment plan went into a low/moderate risk fund that had stock in multiple companies that changed frequently.

You are right, a large proportion of fertilized eggs do not result in a pregnancy, but some people believe life begins at conception - not implantation and to them the four methods constitute abortion or murder.

No, I am not missing the point, I can see how this can become a slippery slope. However, government already limits how private business can and cannot run their business. I would not be surprised to see the no shirt no shoes no service signs gone soon. :) In my statements before this I was trying to make the point that HL was not in fact trying to deny birth control to their female employees as so many articles and persons were trying to imply. It is a family owned company and seems to follow their convictions (not being open on Sundays). I haven't heard anything about making their employees attend religious services or anything like that.
