. . .
Corporations are NOT EVIL.  They can be, but in general, they are good.  They are part of all of our lives.  We depend on them.  If they cannot be subjected to personal values, then we will have REAL problems in this country.

The assumption everyone makes is that they are good, but the reality is they are only good because the law requires them to be. Which is exactly why corporations will use the recent SCOTUS decision as a "loophole" in the law, to be used as a lever to increase their bottom line and oppress / persecute their own employees in the name of a personal belief system that in reality only has meaning if they are caught acting against it within their PERSONAL lives.

People are attempting to create a melding of personal and professional morality that does not, and cannot exist.

If the corporation I work for has a policy against wearing fur, then I am opening myself up for potential disciplinary action by making a personal choice to wear it.

If my personal religion states I must wear fur at all times, I will still be fired for it and there will be nothing I can do about it; especially within an at will or right to work state. I will be fired for it.

The reality is, these very same corporations that the SCOTUS has granted constitutional rights to, are nothing more than legal "individuals" and NOT persons. Only a person can wield constitutional rights and protections. (The law has been very clear on this in the past, and yet as of the last few years the sitting SCOTUS somehow feels empowered to totally ignore this).

Moreover, should a corporation be found to be violating your constitutional rights / protections, you have absolutely zero legal recourse against them what-so-ever within a right to work or at will state. None. Nada. Zero.

Not so the other way around now. Violation of a constitutional "right" or "protection" of one of these faceless and soulless corporations as an individual, and you will be fired, and potentially taken to court and charged.

Again, if you think I am making this stuff up do yourself a favor and make an appointment for a consultation with an attorney that specializes in this type of law. S/he will tell you exactly the same things I am. Go ahead and do it. The initial consultation is free so all it will cost you is a little of your time and some gas to get to the office. You will find out I am not making this up. I spoke to several of them myself in the past, in this state and two others, and they ALL told me the very same thing.

I never said they do not use it. What I said that if the church knew it, they would excommunicate you. If one of the parishioners knows it, and decides they don't like you for some reason, they could tell the parish priests about it, and they could throw you out and ban you from any catholic church; worldwide.

I also converted at one time. If you are part of a Roman Catholic Parish you will be excommunicated from the church if they find out you are using birth control. There is no reason acceptable to the church for using it.
Awww but see, nowadays the Catholic church stand on birth control is that you only have the number of children that you can afford. Plus, they priest would have to prove I am now on birth control. I am not now and haven't been for some time but see the burden of proof would lie on them. They can throw me out as I don't go along with their beliefs anyway.

They still maintain the "rhythm" method as the only acceptable form of birth control. And sorry, but proof would have no bearing on the subject. Accusation is enough for the church. They would throw you out in a heartbeat.

True but I also don't go so it wouldn't do them any good to throw me out. There is a ton of other reasons I left the Catholic church. I am not crazy about any church that doesn't believe that a spiritual leader can be married and the facts of them molesting children was sickening for me.

Increasingly it is becoming more apparent that you do not have to believe, attend, or claim to be an active practitioner of any faith to be impacted by it. They are now actively lobbying for legislation that imposes their beliefs and religiosity upon you within your personal and professional lives. . .  And succeeding.

Already, 1 day after the disastrous SCOTUS decision, the above are purported to have sent an e-mail to the POTUS asking for religious exemption executive order to be signed by him.

This shite will end up creating another version of religious Tyranny, from which there will be no place left to hide on this planet this time.

Do you know the difference between "birth control" and abortion?
Troll's question was regarding abortion and I answered it.  Quit nit picking.

Oh, damn! I didn't think a sentient being could be so f#%*^& stupid.

Troll's question had NOTHING to do with abortion ...

On second thought, the word 'sentient' does not apply to her.

I do believe "Thou Shall Not Kill" pretty much covers it since that's what's happening, a fetus/baby is being killed.

If a fetus is a life then so is a cancer.

  I believe in evolution, but strongly resist the idea that we're solely the product of biology and evolution. So, let me propose something else and ask a few questions:

One theory of reincarnation is that the body is like a house, empty until a soul enters and turns on the lights. And, when the body dies, the soul leaves and turns off the lights.

So, assuming a body has a soul,

When does that soul enter the body?  At conception? At birth?

Henry, just what turnip truck did you get off of.   General Motors killing people with bad key locks, cause the people in charge didn't do any thing about it.  BP killing the Gulf of Mexico trying to do the drilling on the cheap, Enron killing it's workers jobs, because the it's leaders where cheating the people who bought it's products and all of the other bad corporations like the one Mitt Romney had, sending American job overseas to make himself richer.     I could go on and on and on, your the dumb ass that can't see the truth.  : :kneel: :groan:  Let's see you  yourself out of this.  Dummy.   :knife:

Good and Evil exist.

We have laws in place, we just don't use them all the time do we.... like our boarder patrol cannot do their jobs effectively because, our FED GOV is playing politics instead of letting the states enforce the laws they have in place to keep their people safe.

I think BIG GOV is more of a danger than BIG BUSINESS.
