Yes. Those charges, when added to the per gallon cost of water each month, make the amount we pay for water among the highest in the Midwest . (If not the highest)

The reason I look at it that way is that is the way they charge us. You get charged sewer fees for every gallon of water you use; whether it goes onto your grass, into your pool, or into the sewers. It all costs the same.
They do adjust for pools and lawn watering.  Also if you have a leak and the water didn't go into the sewer they will adjust the sewage bill as long as you take them proof the leak has been fixed.

Yeah. You try it out and let me know how it works out for you. There's a reason I let my grass burn up in last years drought.

I've done it before but you have to go up there.  If your water bill is higher than normal during a dry period and you don't have a leak they do it on the average bill and if you have a leak and tell them what it was and they're satisfied it didn't go into the sewer and you show them where you paid to get it fixed and the consumption goes back to normal they adjust the sewage on the next bill. They don't adjust the water though because it was actual usage.

I have actually taken a plumbing bill proving I had a pipe burst into the Anderson utilities office and gotten my bill adjusted.
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

Oh I am sure it would work in the case of leaks and pool filling.

But I've tried to get credits for watering my lawn to no avail. Several times. So I don't do it.

I was thinking back and you're right about the lawn thing.  They used to adjust the bill but last time I tried, which was 3 or 4yrs ago, they said they automatically adjusted the bills for that.  Somehow I don't think they ever really did though.

Was talking to some folks yesterday who have got the idea in their head that this is another "Farm" project that is seeking to dig into the local taxpayers pockets.

1. What pockets? Anybody looked around this town and seen the empty homes, the citizens scraping by on 10 dollar an hour jobs while having to pay 30% of their weekly wages for healthcare insurance for which they receive nothing?

2. It isn't the city of Anderson or Madison county that is hawking this project; but rather the state of Indiana and the city of Indianapolis specifically. Because that is where the water shortage is. They need a reservoir and the citizens of madison county do not. (yet).

3. The local water utility will be footing the bill, in part, and the balance will come from the state and feds.

Then they started yapping about there being no recreational use allowed because it will be a drinking water resource.
Really?

1. Take a look at lake Michigan lately? It serves as the drinking source for the city of Chicago and most of it's suburbs. And they ski, fish choke, puke, and piss in it all day long, all year long.

2. Geist? Morse? Eagle Creek? Boats galore, fishing, skiing, peeing. All drinking water resources.

Wow. The people of Madison county have got their heads so far up GM's ass, that they will drown in their own bullshit.

It needs to be flooded!
