Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

Me, you have the right to your opinion, but, regarding the following comment by you:

"The tours at the WH are self guided and it does not cost that much to stay open to allow them."

"Self guided" is simplified to say the least, as is the cost. Keep in mind it's the home of the President of the United States.

I took the tour once, at Christmas. My boss took me as a special Christmas gift, and we were part of a pre-arranged tour.

Since you brought it up, I decided to look it up and see what I'd have to do if family or friends come to town and I want to treat them to a trip to the White House.

"How to Get a White House Tour

By Rona Aquino, eHow Contributor

See the historic White House in Washington D.C., one of the most well-known buildings in the world. The building symbolizes the U.S. government and serves as home of the country's president. The White House is the only private residence of a head of state that offers free public tours. Tours are self-guided and last for about 40 minutes. High volume of requests are received and not all requests are granted.

Difficulty: Moderate

Instructions

1. Determine the dates you want to tour the White House. As of the publication date, self-guided tours are available from Tuesday through Thursday between 7:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. On Fridays, visitors can schedule tours from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., and 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, except during federal holidays.

2. Contact your representative member of Congress to submit a White House tour request. You can submit a request at least 21 days and up to six months in advance. Request as early as possible to increase your chances of receiving tour confirmation. Go to Writerep.house.gov to obtain your representative's contact information.

3. Provide information such as your name, complete address, tour dates, phone contact, email and number of adults and kids in your party when requesting a White House tour. Be flexible and provide a range of dates to increase your chances of getting approved. More information may be required once your tour dates are confirmed.

4. Wait for a reply from your congressman's office. If you haven't heard back from them as your tour date comes near, call and check the status of your request.

Tips & Warnings

Stop by the White House Visitor Center before or after your tour of the White House. The visitor center is at the southeast corner of 15th and E Streets and is open seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. The visitor center offers exhibits that feature the White House's architecture, first families, furnishings, events and more.

Valid forms of identification are required to enter the White House. All guests age 18 years and above must have a valid, government-issued photo identification. All foreign nationals must have their passport."

The problem you have in getting her to see that is you're dealing with someone who attempts to interject herself into serious national policy discussions based on 10-second clips from Fox News.

Where's the outrage?
Notice it was a Republican who wanted to limit the amount spent and a former Republican First Lady who turned down the pension money.

What does that have to do with anything?  The truth is the truth no matter where you hear it from.  As far as Ex's example goes that has nothing to do with the "in your face" things that are going on now.

They won't read it and even if they do they'll excuse it.  They just don't see for some reason.

It was also a fucking Republican whose bill was the highest just like his White House budget was significantly higher than the current administration's.  You weren't bitching then just like you aren't bitching about what these white ex-presidents are spending now.

This is worth repeating...with some minor modifications.

The White House has its own budget.  Don't you know anything?

Bingo!!!!  It was already in the budget for the tours........My point.....why cancel them?  He is trying to bully congress into giving him his way by making people irate at them but his daughters got to take their trip which was also already budgeted.  He is playing games period.

I have no idea.  It's obvious to any thinking person that every post of hers is based in overt racism.

Oh, and the Easter egg hunt at the WH has been canceled too.  How sweet.  Get to the parents through the kids.  What a guy.
