Hystrionic personality disorder. Yep, describes the conservative GOP!

Or it could be Border Line Personality Disorder.  Extremely high highs and extremely low lows.  Check it out on Goggle.

Presidents from both parties have been trying to do this for 80 years and now we have a framework from which we can build.  Had this been the work of a white Republican, these same people would be singing his praises...in fact, they did when Mitt Romney pushed almost exactly this same legislation through in Massachusetts and the Huffington Post praised the individual mandate.  And yet, it isn't about politics or race...it's simply bad policy...fucking please.

I'll say it again...the only people who will be subjected to this new "tax" are those who can afford health insurance and choose not to pay for it.

On a personal level, I was one of those people.  Having been self employed for many, many years, I paid for my own health insurance.  As I got older, my premiums increased every year until I decided it was too much to pay for health insurance that I never used anyway and let it expire.  Fortunately, I wasn't involved in any serious accident nor did I experience any catastrophic health episode while uninsured but I could have been and if I had been, I'd have probably been forced to file bankruptcy leaving the health care system no alternative but to increase everyone else's costs to pay for me.  During that time I was living in a 3,500 square foot house in VanBuskirk Heights and driving a $65,000.00 Mercedes with a $900.00 monthly payment.  I could have easily continued to pay my health insurance premiums; I just didn't want to.

This law penalizes no one on this forum; it penalizes jackasses like me who have the means to pay for health insurance and choose not to.  Do you really have a problem with that?

And it does gripe my ass too,

Ex, does this not open the flood gates for congress to force Americans to buy anything they choose, and say if you don't, you will be taxed?  If you don't pay the tax, the IRS will enforce this law, and you go to jail.

The precident has been set now.

Such as, in order to save electricity, you MUST buy solar panels.  If you don't you will pay a tax.  If you don't pay a tax, you CAN go to jail or pay a fine.

I've been busy today and haven't really had a chance to follow this thread, but the parts in bold are either purposeful deceptions on your part HH, pure ignorance of the ACA, or flat out lies.   Which is it?

You know after reading some of the "furious anger" over the SCOTUS decision by a lot of people on the Internet, I think a large part of it really boils down to what is depicted in Exterminator's cartoon on the first page of this thread.  Most American are against the health care law until they find out exactly what's in it.  And the reason that they're against it, is because it's been labelled by the media and by conservatives as Obamacare.  Sad, but it really does seem to be true given a lot of what I'm reading.

And the fear mongering part of that is a flat out, bald faced lie.  Would you care to tell us why, or would you like me to do it?

So does that mean the reason people were against Hillary's healthcare bill is because it was named after her?  Hum, I guess they were all woman haters too.  Damn go figure. Think people think, it has nothing to do with Obama or his color it has to do with some simply don't like his healthcare bill period.

Please spell out exactly what it is that you don't like.  You've already posted a graphic containing flat out lies, but I'm still willing to entertain your banter.
