How is 'HAL 9000' a joke on us old folks?

Now remember, BO, you and I are either the same age or damn close...

...and my first computer was Xerox 8088.

Because the article I posted was about the HAL 8800.  And then I later said it was the HAL from the movie.

I'm older'n all you whippersnappers. My first computer was an abacus.

Law of Logical Argument - Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.  ;)

"You've probably noticed that opinion pollsters go out of their way to include as many morons as possible in surveys ... I think it's dangerous to inform morons about what their fellow morons are thinking. It only reinforces their opinions. And the one thing worse than a moron with an opinion is lots of them." -- Scott Adams

In other words: Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  ;)

"It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it." -- Upton Sinclair

"Hitler is gone, but if the majority of our fellow citizens are more susceptible to the slogans of fear and race hatred than to those of peaceful accommodation and mutual respect among human beings, our political liberties remain at the mercy of any eloquent and unscrupulous demagogue." -- S. I. Hayakawa

Doubt it! The world of music has passed me by. And arthritis is tough on old bass players.

Did anyone of you have the Commodore 64?  That is the first one I remember using.

Then now would be a good time to take up keyboards or steel. Never give up on music or playing it.

I had one of these. I didn't get into 'puters 'til later when 3.1 came out and we got a Packard Bell. My grandkids still play games on it believe it or not.

SLEEP!  I'm telling you a shot of Jack and a hot shower will help you relax enough to get some much needed sleep.  I still don't feel like running any races, but feel much better.... at least for now.

I love looking at old family pictures. I just recently found this one of my great-great-great-great-grandfather  ...

Very cool.  My 93 year old uncle passed away this week, and my cousin has shared some very, very old pictures that my uncle had of HIS grandparents, some of my dad when he was very young....it is so much fun to look at them.
