My wife and I made it, but it was a struggle.  When we left Saturday morning it was 18 degrees and about four to five inches of snow.  It took us five hours to what normally it would have been two.  Faced snow, ice, high winds, heavy rain and fog the first day.  We got here yesterday to sunshine and 84 degrees!

I have meetings and classes to take the next three days but plan on having a couple of days of fun with my wife towards the end of the week.  I can get used to living down here pretty quick! It is gorgeous out right now!

Thanks guys!

Sitting through a speaker presentation, then off to a class regarding Dara Centers, meanwhile the temp outside is 70........it is hard to get motivated about work, but I am fortunate to have an employer who wants to invest in me....so I gotta get back to it.😀

25 years! One company! My 30 year IT career is winding down with less than a year to go! I have started an exit document and am gradually training and passing on responsibilities! The best part is I am no longer on-call 24/7/365. No more 3:00 AM calls!!!! And now I only carry one phone. For years, the company insisted that I carry their company phone (a red Samsung Juke )

I won't miss this job at all. AS much as I love it, the pressure is just overwhelming at times.

Congratulations!!  And I know the feeling of being on call all the time.

Congrats Bo!  I don't have many 3:00 am phone calls, but get the occasional evening and weekend call, by one of my technicians.

I have been in this industry for 25 years as of last month, and with my current company for going on 15.  I still have another 10 years plus until my glory days kick in....unless my 92 year old Dad hits the lottery.  I don't play it, but he does.  He says he is going to hit it for me, but God-love him, time is running out.  :spooked:    So, I'm not holding my breath.

Bo, do you have any big plans?

Congratulations!! I totally understand about 3 am calls, use to get them all the time from law enforcement and judges. Was glad to hang that up!

Bravo my dear friend! BRAVO!  8) 8)

I'm told the elation lasts about 4 to 6 weeks, then the novelty wears off and you have to find something to do. . .

I sincerely wish you the very best in your well earned retirement! I am envious, but seeing someone like you get to the finish line with fuel still in the tank, gives me great hope!

I wanna see pictures of those fish dude! And smiling grandkids too!  8)  :food5: :uns: :surf:

This is really neat! A video of a motorcycle trip.

At precisely the 9:15 mark, you can see the spot on the left where I was born (Abb's Valley, VA). The old house is long gone so it's just an empty lot now.

And here at the 2:22 mark is my old high school.

Whew! Just took the trip through Abbs Valley and Pocahontas. Every few years I go that way just for the heck of it -- with friends and/or family -- but never on a motorcycle. My dad once worked in Pocahontas. It's a shame what has happened to the once thriving little town.
