Sounds like fun.  The only problem with all of that is the magic is very expensive.  That's one rich mouse.

My wife has figured out when the best time to go there and how to buy tickets so it is NOT as bad as you would think.

The best time to go there is in the winter time.  It's too damn hot to go there any other time.  We typically never go there between April and September.

We have been there in Jan, and it IS the best.  It did get hot during the afternoon this time, in the 90's, that is when we went back to our hotel and chilled at the pool....went back in the evening and it was perfect.

This was an exception because of her B-Day and our Anniversary.......it really isn't until next month, but it was much cheaper to go when we did, rather than wait until June.  We celebrated early.

Nothing wrong with an early celebration to save a few dollars.   ;D

My wife LOVES WDW.  We went to EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom...and chilled pool side.
Awesome, I went to WDW about 4 years ago on a school field trip. I didn't even have to pay to get it as we did some stuff to get tickets paid for. The joke was that another man took me and it wasn't my husband! Lol!!

We used to go to WDW for free back in the 90's. Our son's in-laws all worked there and they could take so many guests in free each month so when we went down to visit they usually treated us to WDW. New Years Day used to be a great day to go, don't know how it is now. We went in October of 2001 and the park was practically empty by normal standards. We had a great time, didn't wait in line for anything. One time we went, probably in the late 70's when our kids were still to young to go off on their own, and a Japanese family followed us all day. The two children were about the same ages as ours so I guess they thought we knew what we were doing. It got funny after awhile. When we ate anything they ordered the same thing, went to the restroom at the same time, etc.

SEVENTY YEARS AGO TODAY, tens of thousands of American soldiers, sailors and airmen, along with thousands of allied troops, stormed the beaches of Normandy in Operation Overlord....D-Day....and saved the world.

My Dad went through that beach just a few of weeks after this invasion as the 44th infantry division, 44th recon.  Nearly 2500 American soldiers died in one day, so soldiers like my Dad could get through that beach and make it to Berlin....and bring Hitler to his knees.  My Dad will occasionally and modestly,  talk about his experience there.

I have the actual newspaper from the Anderson Bulletin that headlined a picture of my dad and his four brothers, who were ALL in action at the same time, scattered all around the world.  They interviewed my Grandma and Grandpa.

My Dad and one of his older brothers are all that are left.

In his mind, it was no big deal.  He just did what he was supposed to do.

There are times it hits me, that just how big a "deal" his generation was, and how much of a hero he really was or should I say IS.

They say by the time the 75th anniversary comes around, there probably won't be any of these hero's left.   :(

A great tribute to your dad and his generation, HH. It seems most thought they were just doing what was expected, finished the job, came home and built a life, no whining, no complaining, just getting on with life. IMO the are/were the 'greatest generation'.
