I have decided people should pay me to come to their area if they are in a drought. When my kids both lived in SC they were in a drought and every single time we visited it rained almost every day we were there. Now we are in Texas and it has poured rain for two days. And its cold,

I would have thought all of the cold would have been long gone from Texas by this time of the year Anne.

You would think so - at least we did when we decided to visit our son. It has only been in the 50's and storming. They say it will be warm by Wed. I hope so. We are in Ft. Worth. Lots of people from KY here this weekend. :)

I worked in my yard all day saturday from 10 am until about 10 pm....did it again sunday from about 2 pm until 8 pm...........raking, picking up sticks, burning them, getting my mower ready for the season..changing oil, charging battery, greasing it, sharpening the blades.

and right now, I am stitting at my desk at work in dire pain.  I have NEVER, EVER been this sore in my entire life!!  :'(   :o

This is very true....it did kind "over-do" it.  I was actually having the time of my life.  The weather was perfect.  My yard was not looking good after this long winter.  Limbs, sticks and leaves everywhere.  Listening to some music, and raking and cleaning and burning.  All good stuff.

I didn't realize how out of shape I was in until I sat down that evening and tried to get up...Worse yet the next morning I though rigor mortis had set in.

I am planning on doing more tuesday or wednesday evening after work.  So, maybe this wil all be good.

Make sure that you stretch really well when you finish and your muscles are warm stay hydrated with water (not the kind with hops ;D) and eat a protein based snack within 30 minutes of finishing. Should help.

Henry, just think it's going to get worse.  Just wait until you're 76.  :trustme: on this one kid.

I think about that quite often.  It is the motivation for me to START getting my lead out of my behind and begin a regular exercise routine.  My wife and I both are realizing how important we start this.

Funny how in my mind, I am STILL 20 something, THEN when I look in the mirror and remember I am NOT that person I once was.

My dad managed to keep fit until his 80's....until Mom passed away.  Then he kind of gave up.  But he worked in the yard, mowed his lawn, played horseshoes.....I think had Mom still been around, he would be in MUCH better health right now, at the age of 91.  His mind is still good, just his legs and hips give him trouble.

Troll, keep an eye on your hips and knee's....if you need them fixed....DO IT.  I wished we would have worked on my Dad to do so a few years ago.

Already got it in the back and hips.   :o  But my wife and I work out 3 times a week and I do think it helps from getting worse.
