That was the good part. Can anyone tell me why people go to these events with air horns and insist on screaming and blowing the cursed things so that half the time you can't hear the next graduates name? It was a very pleasant evening weather wise for central Florida and what we could hear of the program was very nice.

This is a picture of the replica of the space shuttle that's been on display at the Kennedy Space Center visitor's complex for the past several years.  Since KSC is getting shuttle Atlantis later this year, this replica is on its way out to sea, down around the southern tip of Florida, and across the Gulf of Mexico to be put on display at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.  This picture was taken as the shuttle was getting ready to enter into the passageway that connects Port Canaveral to the Atlantic Ocean.

And I might add that the weather looks like it's a hell of a lot better there in central Florida than it is here in Fort Lauderdale.  It's been raining solid since last night.

Well it's the start of our rainy season here.  That means it'll probably rain at some point every day between now and October.

We are over by Citrus Springs and it is sunny here, hasn't rained since we got here Sunday. My son was disappointed, it always rains when I come to FL. They need rain here, too.

The last two years we spent in Florida there were drought conditions.  Tampa water reservoir was empty and they were buying water from other towns and outside fire were banned.  Some of the fields were brown and you see the sand flying when the wing blew.

I remember my brother, who died as a result of Vietnam, and many brothers in arms who also gave their lives there.

I also relive the survivor's remorse associated with it.

To all my comrades, whatever age, whatever service, from decorated combatant to cook, I say "Damn well done, brother."

Thanks for your help in staying alive and healing physically and emotionally. I will never those who were close enough to provide the personal help.

The rest of you -- I have felt part of your pain, and I thank you for your sacrifices.

From the dude in the back row offering the toast to you heroes.
