Calling Palehorse, calling palehorse.  I have a friend on the East coast who send me some really good emails.  I know you probably can get my email adress.  Send me your email address and I will send you only the best ones my friend send me.  Then you can put what you want of the Unknown Zone.  Some of them just blow me away.

Mortimer? Oh no, you need not worry about that, Dr. Harper. Mortimer hates the theater.

Sorry that I haven't been around much lately. School's out so that means "slow down" right? Not for us. Softball camp this week, lacrosse next, then field hockey takes us up to the end of July when soccer camp starts. There's a cheerleading camp after that and then starts cheer conditioning and tryouts. This is ALL stuff she has asked to do, so I support her, but it takes a toll. I get up and leave the house early, go to work and head straight to where she is. I generally run while she's finishing up. Add to that rehearsals for a play that she and I are in and some fun in the sun...I'm already pooped. ;D

I hope you realize there is such a thing as TOO MUCH!  There is such a thing as over stress, burn out.  Remember when you were a small girl.  There was not all of these useless activies and I do mean useless.  Slow down, if your girl would admit the truth to you, she would say, Mom, give me a break.  I want to be just a regular girl.     Just ask her if she would like to take a break from some of the activities.     I think you might be surprised.

You don't get it. She came to me with this schedule. I suggested that it might be too much for her and maybe she might want to spend some time relaxing. She insists this is how she wants to spend her summer. Seriously, do you think I would have done this to myself by pushing her into too many activities? ;D She doesn't drive so whatever she does, I have to be there.  She's fairly determined (don't know where she gets that from) and the worst that can happen is that she finds out for herself what her limits are. She'll be active and out of the house. I've even put some of our volunteer stuff on hold (which we both like) to accomodate the schedule she planned.

Well, we didn't have that problem with our boy, we lived just two blocks from the high school and his grandmother seen that he had a car a the age of sixteen.

But, my brother-in-law had more problems with six kid.  He and his wives couldn't handle all of the activities and he didn't have the money to get each one of them a car.

It was after high school for him.  They wanted money, money, money there was no end of it.  He was complaining about it to me one day.  I told him what his problem was.  He just couldn't say NO.

After I woke him up to how they were using him.  Guess what, he started saying NO.  Now he is not broke and happy.  The kids were bleeding him dry.

Some people can't see the large forest because of all of the tree.  You know your situation better than I do.   Have at it.

In a case like this, I wouldn't say "no". She's tryinmg new things, meeting new people and getting exercise. That's aside from all the other benefits...idle-hands and all that. Although I do look forward to the day she can drive. ;D

You need the key ring I had when my kids were in high school.  It said "Moms taxi service".  How I managed to make it through 3 in high school at the same time I'll never know.   :spooked:  Band and drama club in the winter and band and corn detasseling in the summer plus I had a job.    :bee:
